Don't forget that Twilight Princess Link is a bloodline descendant of the Hero of Time. Spirit Tracks Link also is a descendant probably too...though that raises the question of who Wind Waker Link got with if Spirit Tracks Zelda isn't his descendant.

Anyway, Hero of Time totally bred someone, most likely Malon.

Yeah, TP link living close and working in a farm makes it seem like the most likely option

It would have to be Malon. Since the events of Ocarina never happened, she's the only one he's likely to meet. Most of the sages are high-ranking members of their societies/tribes, and would have no reason to meet a commoner under normal circumstances.

I mean you can literally just waltz into Darmani and King Zora's rooms as long as you know Zelda's Lullaby. Link could meet with most of the Sages easily. Still, yeah, Malon is the only option that makes any sense.

Considering at the end Link is just a kid that has memories of big and dangerous battles that never happened and never will happen, he may be drawn to a girl who can ground him in this moment in time.

Nah, I agree. I'm just saying he could still be palls with most of the Sages if he wanted. Settling down after two hard quests with a peaceful ranch life is what he deserves.

Here are Link's options from the end of Ocarina, as I see it:
1. Return to life in Kokiri Forest - Unlikely, given he knows the truth and has no fairy to guide him
2. The Royal Family are so grateful they allow Link to join their ranks as a squire - Possible, likely even, but he'd still be a little young by IRL medieval standards
3. Go to Lon Lon Ranch and ask to stay and help out - If Link met Malon the same way as the "original" timeline this seems the most likely option to me. Malon takes a shine to Link immediately and Talon seems to like him, too.

At the end of ocarina you see him talk to kid Zelda, so he had to re meet Malon

Yeah, even if TotK sucks at least it'll be something to talk about. I wonder what kind of DLC it's going to have.
