Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

Is it possible to do a perfect run, where you re-complete all the bosses and repeatable sidequests in the same three-day period without rewinding the clock?
It's not possible to do everything because some quests are mutually exclusive. For example, you can't stop the old lady from being robbed if you want to help Anju and Kafei.

Here's a pretty good video on the idea.

I don't really have much more to add about TotK since it's already been discussed thoroughly enough here so enjoy these people whinging about how working full-time entitles them to having easy mode cheats for their vidya.

Maybe lootboxes? Maybe has diamonds, maybe has weapons, maybe has korok seeds or paraglider fabric
Why not? These retards would buy it I'm sure and most will probably praise Nintendo in the end

You can get this shit with Amiibos, right? Why don't these retards just learn to fucking make Amiibo cards or buy all the bootlegs on ebay for 30 bucks? I'm a complete dumbass and figured out how to do that shit with my cheap boost mobile phone back when BotW came out FFS

"I love this game so much, I want to play it as little as possible!"

Recently finished the game and this autistic part of me kept wondering why things felt so disjointed with the story. The Divine Beasts and all old Sheikah technology is just gone without explanation. A ton of characters have zero clue who Link is despite him stopping a century-long apocalypse a few years back. At most they just know him as Zelda's bodyguard. It doesn't seem like Ganondof is aware of anything Calamity Ganon did, which makes me wonder what the fuck it even was. It really felt like Nintendo was terrified people didn't play Breath of the Wild despite its massive success and had to make sure anyone could dive blindly into Tears of the Kingdom and only miss a few beats.

Gameplay was mostly fun, I didn't like a lot of the repeating aspects like towers and shrines or the main quest mainly involving going to the same four races and saving them from some new disaster. I also feel like Link needs to talk because all these cutscenes with characters opening up to him and declaring their undying loyalty to him is so awkward when he just silently, blankly stares back at them. If these sort of cutscenes are here to stay, it makes Link feel outdated and awkward.

The way I always explain continuity nonsense to myself is by figuring that the franchise is called "The Legend of Zelda", therefore, it's a retelling of the same story by someone else who had a completely different understanding of Sheikah technology.

Person #1: "...and there were many towers across the land that helped Link get an overview of the area. He had to arduously climb each and every one, some fraught with obstacles, and the map was recorded on his not-Wii U gamepad."

Person #2: "...and there were many towers across the land that helped Link get an overview of the area. The marvels of Zonai technology let him zip up and launch right out of their tops, and the map was recorded on his not-Nintendo Switch."

I like to think there's an in-universe modern world where they have modern things like guns and toilets, and they share legends of Zelda & co. in a religious context, and edgelords wear necklaces with upside down triforces to show off how edgy they are as they pray to Ganon and act like faggots online

With Majora's Mask I think the best outcome you can hope for is after completing each temple once. Then you can start over, slow down time if you wish, knock out each dungeon boss quick to save each region. And then I guess do the couple's mask subquest? Annnnd... save the haunted Dad from the gibidos.

Does that make the world perfect?

You could get a lot of shit done on the N64 version I'm pretty sure. The biggest issue were the faries and having to pick between stuff like helping bomb lady and doing the marriage quest. I remember it being a big point for 12 year old me back in the day.

IDK about the 3DS version. I think the inverted song of time isn't as slow in that one maybe so it kind of fucks things up?

I kinda agree in theory about letting Link talk, but I think I prefer the way the've been doing it since about Skyward Sword, where they let you choose dialog options. Link is supposed to be an extention of the player, and I would just feel very weird about him speaking in full sentances, because it will always remind me of the CDI games or the cartoon. I think the issue is just that this current incarnation of Link is too stoic and barely even reacts to the things happening to him, the older games were better at this and would at leastet him express some emotion.

Its autistic but I cant stop playing TOTK as if it were Pokemon Snap. I kind of did it in the last one but Ill get like cool poses or ;artistic' pictures for the compendium and I kind of wish the resolution were better and you could fuck with it more. And store more photos.

That said, I also cant stop just exploring and ending up doing quests or finding caves without even getting them, and feeling like Im kinda missing out. I came across some Gerudo under a pink tree that said something about them leading to treasure or something I saw the thing for the apple and put one in and the blue dog came and lit up a bunch of caves. I did a bunch of them in the Rito area because I was putting off the main quest since I cant stand the look of the Rito in this game--they look too much like deviantart OCs even though I remember not minding in BOTW.

Now that I finished the real boss dungeon. there are quests like 'in the middle of the 3 springs is some ancient rito treasure' and I come back to Rito Village after finishing the boat, and talk to someone and they go 'oh I was gonna tell you this legend and give you the quest but you already have the treasure wow youre so cool!' I was going 'wait I already did the cave in one hot spring and shrine in the other and didnt really see the 3rd, I didnt even find it how did I finish the quest? The two treasures were lame, the Vah Medan helmet was in this random other place--ooh it meant PHYSICALLY in the middle of the 3'. So I would have had to puzzle over it since the wording is leading you that way, but I already solved it and it was almost a blue balls kinda thing.

People say the plot is aimless and disjointed and it is, but I think thats in part because theyre trying to shove in a lot of plot guidance and gatekeeping while keeping it 'go wherever, do whatever', so you can end up doing the shit out of order. People said BOTW had no plot, and it kind of did but it fit better because you COULD do whatever, but it still led you on a path with enemy strength and and what skills and weapons you can use and shit. Here since you can ride into the sky or go underground you can get around 'plot obstacles' like infinite rain or too tall mountains/too wide gaps if you have the skill or stamina or items.

Other people say the shrines suck and they kinda do, theyre easy and have a few ways of doing it, basically 'right way' or 'creative/hard/breaking it', but I kind of like it that way. I found ts more fun to not look at much discussion or spoilers of how other people are playing it, the shrines are basically a tutorial of 'hey heres a few ways you can use the skills the game gives you' so as you slowly complete more, you also naturally slowly get better and more creative with the skills and see how they want you to use them with the zonai tools they give you. I think its a good progression.

Being stoic doesn't mean he can't speak to people, though. He can and does talk, just not where we can hear him. I mean shit, he even makes goofy-ass seal puns. It's just very odd to watch someone pour their heart out to someone just to get an empty stare as the only response.

how can you think that?
wouldn't you like a statue of you and your homie built where he's riding on your back?
next thing you're going to tell me is you don't put rings on each other's finger to signify your bond
I checked back into Zora's Domain the other day to get the Lightscale Trident and chatted with both Sidon and his weird manta ray girlfriend (is she a Zora or something else? Why do most Zora look like dolphin/shark things but she looks like a ray? It bothers me). I walked away from both interactions strongly feeling like I had just been propositioned for a threesome.

They looked better in OoT

OK, I've played a bit of TotK, I can definitely say this shit is not for me. I am finally allowed to explore, my first thoughts are "fuck, running everywhere is slow" and "oh, another fat fucking korok wants to get somewhere" as well as "do I really have to banjo Kazooie evey time I want to go somewhere?". Add to that how my hoarding tendencies make me avoid combat because I just waste resources to maybe get more resources and I'm clearly not in the right mind frame for this.

The opening in the sky island is certainly fantastic atmosphere, but now that I'm starting to see that doing temples and korok fetch quests is a big part of the game, I'm getting cold feet. That, and I find building shit tedious more than stimulating.
