Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

Kojima should be banned from making video games
If his next non-Death Stranding game sucks then I'd agree. He deserves to have another shot at something.

Personally, I think he should not exclusively focus on AAA. Instead do a spiritual successor to Snatcher with a AA budget, something of that scope.

Hey, Heavy Rain was good aside from the dumb plot twist. Parts of Beyond was good... I haven't played Detroit yet, but I want to, though I suspect it's even worse than Beyond (which was passable).
Detroit is easily his most competent game, but that is in no way a high bar to clear. It still suffers from the big David Cage problem where it doesn't have a plot, it has scenes, and taken individually the scenes can be good but taken in the greater narrative context they're really retarded.

Pleasantly surprised with how good TOTK is. It's like replaying BOTW but with different/rearranged content. Lost a few days of my life to it already.
I got it for approximately $50 :story: pays to wait.

I liked Heavy Rain, but I'm not sure I'll ever want to revisit it, because it's probably a product of its time. I remember being very impressed with the graphics way back when.

I think it depends on how much you can stomach quicktime events. Those were pretty ubiquitous at one point, but seem to have fallen out of favor. I personally don't mind simple ones sprinkled in, but Heavy Rain does go way overboard.

The graphics were definitely impressive for the time. Going back now you'd probably not only notice how dated it looks but also that era's obsession with lifeless greys and browns.

Heavy Rain also has a really weird control scheme where you point the stick the direction you want to go and then hold a button to make him walk, and yeah like @SSj_Ness said, the QTEs are insane. The game is probably 75% QTEs by length. The story is probably the best story of any David Cage game when looked at in a vacuum but it still suffers from the Quantic Dream curse of having decent scenes and a terrible overall plot. I also don't like that there are four perspective characters and the plot twist is so stupid it makes Shyamalan look good.

I'm disappointed with how Ultrahand has no option for control by gyroscope, even with a button held or something; it was so obvious to me that they should've done this, and yet they didn't.

I've yet to build some cool military weapon to help me fight a boss monster. I see people build cool things, but I've yet to do it. That acquaintance I mention built a damn-near perfect hovercraft, and I've been unable to improve on the design he accidentally discovered. On that note, he agreed with me that this style of Zelda is getting old, and he'll only play one more game like it before even he tires of it.

I noticed while fighting a Frox that throwing a bomb into its mouth results in no explosion, if I happen to shoot it in the eye first to knock it out that way. The Frox fights seem to be a hotbed of flaws.

I've enjoyed Pikmin 4 more than TotK, and I agree that the former has a horrible atmosphere in comparison to the first three games, but it's still fun.

I saw an enlightening gif on 4chan's /v/ months back, showing the difference between This game sucks! and This game's awesome! using Super Mario 64 with one player just walking around, and the other using all of Mario's cool acrobatic skills. The issue with this game is that all of the supposedly fun things are much harder to do and also slower than just doing something easier. I won't make my fun with this; the game just has a horrible rhythm about itself.

I'm actually pretty surprised. I didn't know what to expect, but I assumed we'd be getting some sort of DLC.
