The only thing anyone could get out of a suit against him is a legal finding that the shit he said was defamatory and an injunction against him continuing to say it. In other words, something entirely worthless that you'd have to be nuts yourself to even care about.

I thought courts couldn't make injunctions like that because it was a prior restraint on speech? I remember reading about some case where a guy was, much like Shaner, making utterly false and defamatory pages about another guy's business, and even though the court awarded the business owner like $10,000, they couldn't prevent the guy from making more webpages, because that would be prior restraint. Solution: you just have to keep suing him until he gets it.

A prior restraint is just that, a restraint prior to the speech being made. An injunction prohibiting speech that has already been found after a full and fair adjudication to be defamatory can be enjoined. They couldn't prohibit him from saying other defamatory things in advance, though, just the specific things already found to be defamatory.

Look what happened to Eron Gjoni (though what happened to him is fairly obviously actually an unconstitutional prior restraint).

Leonard F. Shaner is blind in one eye but it's not because of an accident like the one he's saying. The real reason is because he discovered he was diabetic and ignored it. Diabetic Retinopathy is the official medical term for this. It's the same reason he wears those fashionable tube socks. So really him going blind is his own fault too. You don't get a gut that impressive on accident.

As for being bullied all your life @Schuylkill Valley you're probably right. Amazing that in all your years you never figured out that if you try to back stab and bully people yourself that they might start bullying you back. It's "interesting" how that works isn't it?

By the Allfather I'm both laughing and sad at his idiocy. His dumb ass, obsessed with fudge and other unhealthy shit, ruined his body so fucking badly that the sugar destroyed his eye and tried to get his feet too. I mean, at no point was he not able to note that he was feeling like ass in the process while eating the sugars or the far rarer occasion of not eating them and go "well shit, I should get that sorted out". Maybe he thinks doctors are a part of the Lenspiracy too; Stalin thought the same thing as he was getting old too.

Despite having poor eating habits, bowel issues, and being generally lazy, @The_Knight_Rider has a very regimented lifestyle. This is possibly the biggest difference I discovered between Chris and Shaner. When Chris lived at home and Bob was still alive, Chris had the day-night cycle of someone who worked 2nd or 3rd shift, despite not having a job. Len, however, with his proclivity towards train schedules, has sections of time blocked off for specific activities. This, however, relates only to things that Len enjoys, such as trains, medication, photography, and sockpuppeting. When it came to actual work at Sears (or any other part-time work), he was late quite frequently and worked after his appointed shift to make up the time. Because he was friends with a department manager, Shaner got away with this behavior.

According to Rick, Shaner would "borrow" tools from the storeroom. Instead of buying tools for the store, we could appropriate things from the sales floor and write it off for use in the store. Shaner, being afraid of numbers and work, would scan a tool off the floor and just open it up to use it without having to go and find one already open, thus making the store eat the cost of whatever he tore open. This would result in Shaner getting yelled at and having to rewrap the product back into its tattered casing and selling it at discount so we could at least make something on it otherwise it'd have to be junked.

One day, Shaner was extremely late. He told a manager that he had a flat tire. When asked how he got to work, he stated he inflated the tire as much as he could before driving to work. Towards the end of Len's shift, Rick watched Len take a screwdriver from the floor, scan it and walk out to his car, only to stab the rear passenger side tire. Len came back inside and took the screwdriver with him to the back. Later on we all would learn that this was Len's ploy to get someone to give him a ride home or to get to hang out with us after work. Rick called out Len on his stupid bullshit as Len begged the younger cashiers (teenage girls) for a ride home.

Needless to say, Len ended up calling AAA, waiting for a ride in a darkened parking lot by himself.

As an actual member of the Feds, so far we're not gonna do anything about it since no one here has been judged a threat to national security. That and commentaries, satire, and critiques are all under Amendment One. Really this site is mostly intern work here; though it does on occasion serve as an excellent honeypot for actual criminals and threats. Sort of like you Mr. Shaner.

Len wasn't the only person who opened things from the sales floor but he was by far the worst perpetrator from my perspective, especially towards the end when his manager was losing face with the higher ups and sales were dipping pretty hard. Because he technically wasn't stealing and just opening it under store use, it wasn't enough to write him up or dismiss him for theft. I know he was written up for being late but there's like counseling sessions and face-to-faces with the supervisor before manager involvement, so it's really hard to be fired for it unless you're active working to get booted.

It was cumulative. He was becoming more erratic with customers on the sales floor when wandering from the back. One definitive instance was he screamed at a child when the child called his train hat "stupid." The father of the child grabbed Len by the collar and Ted had to move in to keep the guy from destroying Len. The next night when Len came in, he was dismissed but not before trying to steal a tool set on the way out.

The first several people who tried to kick him out broke their feet because he's fat.

Eventually someone realized they could use the forklift.
