The last thread and this one keep perpetually giving me silly xcom modding ideas. I know it'd be retarded just for one LP thread, but putting far too much effort into fucking stupid projects is my middle name

The what?
Well, point is, I could actually do it. Sort of.I was being sarcastic.
Pocket Dragoon: Dear Leader we are surrounded sir. What looks like an alien ambush is actually of great benefit to us, as we can just shoot everything standing around
I'm doing my partAlso: Shout-out's to @Swiss46 for bravely taking all the anal probes for the rest of us on that last mission. Your service will be remembered
It came out in 1995.This game looked interesting, but the fact that the aliens look so stereotypical and uninspired is kind of a turn-off to me.
Yeah, but even then there have been lots of "sci-fi" franchises with more originality in alien design -that's my opinion anyway. It came out in 1995.
Not really, but ok.Yeah, but even then there have been lots of "sci-fi" franchises with more originality in alien design -that's my opinion anyway.
Big disagree and there's plenty of cool looking aliens to come in Xcom and TFTD.Yeah, but even then there have been lots of "sci-fi" franchises with more originality in alien design -that's my opinion anyway.

I'll still put him in the name bank anyway.Big disagree and there's plenty of cool looking aliens to come in Xcom and TFTD.
I mean, they’re good designs as any to build a foundation for an IP with. Really, having the aliens be based on supposed real life sightings makes the game potentially that much more immersive, as if something like that could happen in real life.I'll still put him in the name bank anyway.
On second thought he does have a mild point about the designs looking generic, but that applies more to the first game with its deliberate attempt to include aliens based on sightings in popular culture at the time, such as the Sectoids being the Greys, the Floaters being the Flatwoods Monster, etc.
They still show a reasonable amount of personality though. Additionally when game designers try to design an alien race that really is alien it usually ends up looking terrible.
*screeching peta noises*With how liberal @L50LasPak and the ayylmaos are with grenades? I don't think a single fish, crustacean or mollusk was left alive within three miles of that combat zone.
Didn't that happen to me earlier? Then I quickscoped some nerd through a window and I think I was out for a while. Or is that a death roll, I forget how wounding works.HiramTheGrift can count himself lucky as he's the only soldier in the entire game to actually be wounded instead of instantly killed.
All I'm aware of is you being killed off earlier. So far I haven't had to discount anyone from combat because they were wounded. Maybe i'll find it when I put the table of contents together or something.Nice, I came back stronger.

My mistake, I just remembered my hitpoints looking scary (especially after everyone? prior seemingly oneshotted) and not doing anything in the next one. You even had a screenshot of the medkitting. All I'm aware of is you being killed off earlier. So far I haven't had to discount anyone from combat because they were wounded.
