A couple of days ago, Slowbeef tweeted the first contact he had with Diabetus, a PM on SA about Super Metroid:

Also, update on Slowbeef's Cube visual novel thing:
He talked in a recent "dev diary" about being determined to complete the project. He's also mentioned wanting to learn how to use an art program called Aseprite, wanting to know whether there are any VN frameworks for Unity engine and he's said that he's licensed some music to use in the game.
I don't think he's shown any of the actual work he's done, though, but I don't follow him too closely so maybe he has somewhere.

And holy shit, that Tietuesday tweet. That reads like a parody. I don't think you're allowed to retweet that after being the retsupurae man for 10 years.

Maybe she should move off the grid. Record LPs on vhs tapes and float them down a river in bottles to a designated dead drop. In a world overrun by nazis where commentary made over video game footage is the key to winning the war for liberation, it's the only way to be safe.

Chip's been getting into books about game development, particularly one about the localisation of Final Fantasy 4. Ironicus spends a long-ass time talking about roller-coasters since he did research for it on a podcast (Like, this is forty minutes of the episode). Chip gets asked about e-sports and he explains why he's not big into the e-sports scene (basically he doesn't like battle royale games and every time he hears about e-sports these days it's usually because a professional player was caught "grooming underage girls or saying racial slurs on stream.") There's also a bit where they joke about how they never get too attached to Youtubers they follow just in case they turn out to be pricks.

To be fair, he's correct that a lot of these z-list e-celebs seem to get into that kind of shit.

It's really telling, though, that he would talk about "getting attached" to youtube celebrities and the risk of being betrayed by one. Now obviously we know he means he doesn't want to get caught liking or subscribing to someone with unapproved opinions... but why does following a creator have to be such a personal affair? Does he apply that to tv shows? Before he'll watch a new GoT episode each week does he do a search for all the actors and writers to see if they got caught playing a video game incorrectly or some other moral failing? Why is this parasocial attachment to youtube stars who don't reciprocate an actual relationship with you different? If someone makes a channel where they play video games or make a capella songs or whatever, why is there a presumption that they're supposed to share your politics and that they've betrayed you if it comes out that they don't and didn't admit it, even if they never pretended to?

Please be aware that I am paraphrasing what Chip and Ironicus were saying and that Chip's tone was very joke-y about the whole thing. I wouldn't like to insinuate anything about him.
