There isn't a male division by the way, there's the regular division where women can choose to compete against men and a women's-only division.
Okay, this makes it infinitely funnier.

If you read up on those news, it's so that male chess players don't claim to be troons to pick up prize money at female chess tournaments.
Didn't think of that angle on it, that's pretty fucked up.

There's a reason chess competitions are gendered, men are genuinely better at it. I'm not bad but going from a female tournament to a mixed tournament, there's a huge difference. I get absolutely destroyed. It’s not like in other sports where men are obviously bigger and stronger, but their brains just seem better adapted to holding strategies in memory and projecting future moves.
You're thinking pretty highly of yourself, assuming you're in the upper echelon of what your sex has to offer. You might be right, but maybe our society is just structured in a way where the most strategically inclined women are not interested in playing chess. It might even be true that those with the biggest chips on their shoulders try to play chess and not those with the aptitude. Men also generally rank higher in ambition, which could be another cause.

I didn't claim to be in the upper echelon of all women, just that I'm not bad. I know about how well I do in female tournaments and in mixed tournaments, and I do much better in the female ones. That's all I'm claiming here.
Certainly chess isn't the mark of intelligence and culture it once was, but I'm Russian and we still have a pretty strong chess culture here, so I think representation of all sections of society is pretty strong. I'm not very ambitious I'll admit, but I don't see what that has to do with anything. Ambition makes you better at chess? I'm not sure that necessarily follows.

This is true for many physical sports as well, which makes the debate of a "third", non-binary category even funnier. Of course the reason why there are not 50% of female players in the NBA is obvious to us (although the gendies are greatly puzzled by this mystery)

Ambition makes you better at chess? I'm not sure that necessarily follows.
It doesn't directly follow but it connects to how much practice you may put in.
I think both "women are not as good generally" and "there are external factors that make it harder for women" to be true.

The best woman at LTT clarifies his previous statement: oh no, I did not mean I would advocate against sexual harassment! Why would you think that?!?

Seems not everyone is affected by the "hate LTT" train

I'm placing my bet that the "dogshit" comment was either Linus or James; giving OF to her was James or Linus;
"calm your tits" and other similar comments was either Colton or James. The "grabbing" was either Colton or some unknown (there were over 50+ at the time, so it doesn't have to be just one of the hosts)

I'm sorry but even if a woman has a comparable intellect she can't compete with the obsessive power of autism and the geniuses and idiots of the world are overwhelmingly male. Duno why women make a big deal out of the fact that the best of the best are mostly men when for every guy like that there are numerous men that end up dead in a ditch choking on their own sick.

Whatever you say Anthony. What about Linus bullyciding that kid? If you accuse Kiwifarms of bullycide there should be no problem with condemning Linus for his bullycide too.

Project Farm reviewed linus' stubby screwdriver

LTT screw.png

tl;dw it did quite alright, it has almost no ratchet back drag and virtually no side-to-side wobble, so it's not bad at all. Still overpriced though. It may appear to be priced reasonably when looking at the competition but that's just because PB swiss and snap-on are way too expensive too, so don't get fooled.

It doesn’t change the fact that bit storage in handle is asinine for a screwdriver intended to be used for PC building. It makes for a fat handle, which is the last thing you want inside a cramped computer case. Not that you’d want a bits screwdriver for that in the first place, a simple precision screwdriver set with Phillips heads is perfect for this task. It costs next to nothing to buy good quality ones of those, and if you’re a tech nerd you probably already have a drawer full of decent ones you got included in the box with various stuff. Ratcheting also is quite pointless, because you’re not screwing anything in with enough force to make use of that. Better to just have a loosely spinning top on the handle so you can hold it down with one finger and quickly screw in by rolling your hand against the side (the way you can with a precision screwdriver).

TLDR: Snov review says LTT screwdriver is for dumb dumbs. If you want a cool computer screwdriver get the Xiaomi Wowstick, if you want the best computer screwdriver go to your local hardware store and get a set of precision Phillips screwdrivers.

Both of these won't help you with fan screws because fan manufacturers expect you to force the thread onto the plastic. So you also want something that has a Philips head but also a hefty handle so you can easily put enough torque on the screw, but also something that's compact enough.

I'd say a stubby ratcheting screwdriver like that would be a good compromise for that use case, that is if it was actually not overpriced due to it's brand name. But then again, only for that use case, since it's the only one in PC building that needs more torque than precision screwdrivers or a Wowstick can offer.

Is the disclaimer at 3:35 when introducing the LTT screwdriver about buying everything he reviews at full price a dig at Linus?

Ha, that clickbait thumbnail jumping on the LTT current thing is grift-tastic!

fan screws
I’ve threaded fan screws with my wowstick, it works fine. I had to use my mighty forearm strength rather than the little electric motor in the screwdriver, but even with my complete lack of musculature it wasn’t difficult. It would actually be easier with precision screwdrivers, since they usually have a little hole at the top of the handle for you to stick another precision screwdriver through to use as a handle. At that point it’s basically a socket wrench, you’ll have all the torque you can dream of.

For high torque applications I recently bought a nice little electric screwdriver on amazon, £40 (roughly $45) for full bit set, three different torque options with the highest one meant for bicycle maintenance and lowest for taking laptops etc apart. Much cheaper than this overpriced garbargio and has more functionality.

Rather like that guys video, He's helped me with a lot of purchases.

For those out there not familiar with GN's reviews and just learned about them from this, they released this video today and it's peak autism:
31 minute review on a mini-ITX case. They go into severe autism here even measuring the liters of volume and comparing it to others. And the fancy sound chamber gets used. It's so over the top and I love it.
EDIT: They gave a shoutout to HWbusters and had their testing methodology in the sound chamber peer reviewed by him.

I wonder how far in advance Project Farm makes his videos.

Gotta love how detached Todd seems to be from internet drama, too. I bet he had absolutely no idea about LTT's shenanigans until shortly after he released that video and started reading comments, because he unironically touches grass every single day.

Highly unlikely.

The most likely answer is that LTT really tried hard to push a free screwdriver onto Todd, but he flat out refused and insisted on paying for it himself. IIRC the first time LTT released a screwdriver, they sent a whole bunch of freebies out to YT creators with > 1m subs, and Todd rejected it then too.

He did the same thing when he reviewed the original LTT screwdriver. Probably because he started getting comments from retarded zoomers in one of his earlier screwdriver videos hassling him to test the LTT one.

Todd strikes me as someone who has multiple irons in the fire at all times. Who knows when some of that stuff was recorded.

I bought a ratcheting screwdriver today for $5.50 on clearance. For PC building, other fan screws going into NEW UNUSED fans, it's useless

Ractheting doesn't start until the screw is snug, and PC screws are so small with such fine pitch that the ratcheting mechanism is IRRELEVANT. 1 twist of the handle is enough to tighten or untighten them.

First time I used a ratcheting screwdriver and not impressed.
It will have some uses around the house (wood screws...) but it it SHIT for PC building

Bosch PS22 still has the place of honor in my autistic PC tinkering activities and absolutely mogs the linus dilator. Clutch setting 1 and you just go to town.

You can get the brushed PS21 for about the same price as the linus soydriver or the brushless PS22 (perfection) or newest (unnecessarily powerful imo) GSR12v-300HX for 20$ more.

You'd have to be a total loser to get Imbecile Linus' ratcheting dilators.

Speaking of Xiaomi products, if you don't want an electric screwdriver like the Wowstick but you do want something with a flashy design, you can get their manual precision screwdriver. It does take bits, but it has the captured spinning top and is slim enough for using on most electronics. I recommend getting the version with Wiha bits, but be prepared to deal with overpriced listings or the possibility of counterfeits made by even less scrupulous Chinamen.

Regardless, this type of screwdriver is what you should probably use in a desktop or a laptop versus the ratcheting thing Linus licensed. My bet is it's to coerce the mechanical keyboard """""enthusiast""""" crowd into buying it to stim with.

The reason was to encourage women to play, which has ended up doing the opposite as Hou Yifan has suggested, since women can be a lower rating and make a living, do better in tournaments, get titled much easier.

Polgar was #8 in the world, fuck any excuses. It's bullshit.
