The only upside to Floatplane seems to be the fact it has streaming and saves vods, but there are other streaming services that 100% offer better experiences that also don't lock your stuff behind a paywall. I've been careful to open LTT-related videos in incognito windows, and this issue about YT forcing LTT onto me after selecting "Do not recommend" goes back years ago.

The problem being that whilst "Do not recommend" usually stops videos from being recommended on one's YT home page, it doesn't stop videos from being recommended in the sidebar.

Prior to installing BlockTube, I lost count of the number of times I saw that faggot Linus being recommended to me, despite clicking on "Do not recommend" every single fucking time.

To be fair, YT may have fixed this issue since then (though I highly doubt it). I wouldn't know because BlockTube works great, and I highly recommend it. Along with SponsorBlock, Clickbait Remover for YT, Return YouTube Dislike and your favourite ad blocker.

It's kinda sad that 5 plugins are needed to treat the AIDS that is current year YT on a desktop computer, but it is what it is.

Well, to be fair you are probably right, you could be getting recommendations from one of their dozens of content farm channels. I blocked LTT but still got recommended to their stupid podcasts and other junk side channels.

It also influences alternate accounts, of which I have several and am logged into different ones on different devices. I can't get Scott the Woz or his alt channel to go away, either, and there's no "Do not recommend" button on the game console app at all.

Seems like if you were subbed to something and watched it consistently for over a year, YouTube will do everything they can to try and pull you back in. Even if you manage to blacklist all of someone's channels, you'll start playing whack-a-mole with clips, memes, collaborations, podcasts, etc.
