I'm pretty sure LMG uses Teams. So why not just go all the way and use Outlook too? Doesn't make sense to split between MS and Google.

Not possible. CEO and him are friends and have previously worked together. Linus was just getting ahead of things by drafting him in to give an air of professionalism. Nothing has changed.

Linus is the kind of control freak who will insist on a horrible mismatched IT infrastructure because he's slightly preferential to how one feature is presented in one application over another. To hell if he creates way more work for everyone else, he wants the button over here damnit.

I'm half-and-half on Madison's accusations; I got a long meeting in HR after an encounter with a hysterical woman in a workplace before. While I'm sure there was probable "unprofessional behavior," I wouldn't be surprised if it was more of less weird dudes with a relatively attractive girl around (pro-tip: women who are "just one of the guys" is one of the guys until you do/say guy shit and she's not into it). I'm more inclined to believe the paperwork fuck up / change in contract, as she isn't the first one to say LMG is having paperwork issues for their workers (one guy in engineering didn't get paid for like 6 months or so). And given how LMG says workers are not allowed to invest in companies (while Linus himself does), it wouldn't surprise me they decided to rework her YouTube/Patreon while working under them.

As for the guy several pages back who brought up LMG owning Linus's new house; that's not uncommon. Granted it's more of a celebrity type thing and it's not always "Gordon Ramsay LLC" or whatever; but it is some random company that's incorporated in Delaware, and it's kept opaque via a registered agent you won't get past. I don't know Canadian real estate / business laws and such, but putting the house under LMG wouldn't be to hide (because it's in his fucking name), there could be other reasons, but I'm not Canadian and wouldn't know where to begin to look.

I honestly prefer Outlook, in work and personal use; probably because I've been using Hotmail since the 1990's and it's what I'm used to. I do have a GMail and use Google Docs for certain things, but it's not my go to.

But no techtubers declare that interest and can be really shady. Best example is Hardware Unboxed, who I respected, then they did purposely deceiving tests to boost their DDR5 narrative. It's so easy for them to sneak deception like that in there, unless you're a turbo autist you won't catch them using unoptimized RAM.

I know Linus has had numerous strange results, then you wonder why and the most obvious answer is likely correct.

And if you're the person complaining against these e-celebrities, you just get shit on by normies and fanboys supporting whatever side the results favor.

This is Linus we're talking about. There's gotta be some sort of financial incentive for him to use a bit of both.

Google makes sense given that he's one of YT's poster children, but the MS stuff seems like he's taking an each-way bet in the hopes they'll start throwing a few shekels his way. He'll never completely ditch Google products as long as Pajeet Susan still gives him plenty of love.

It always seemed like an "oh yeah also this" thing to tack on to whatever other copy they have. Kind of like environmental concerns; tack on an "oh yeah it's also energy efficient and reduces e-waste" so it sounds better to consoomers who think they're conscientious about such things.

One of the ethical issues Steve hit them on was Linus' investment in Framework. I think they've handled the conflict OK so far, but if they're going to get into objective reviews with hard analysis, they're going to need to address that.

My aforementioned startup workplace insisted on Apple hardware for all employees but ran off of Microsoft Office, which at the time had a lot of hiccups when run on Apple products (I'd imagine that now it's not so bad). Because the boss thought Apple was hack-proof, or something.
