He basically sweeps all his of his own mismanagement that had led to this under the rug because, 1. he hired a new CEO, 2. this week of corpo bullshit. He simps for his fans and gloats at his detractors. Notably, he says his procurement team did nothing wrong, when they were literally losing costly inventory and partners with their mistakes. He touts corpo-sponsored ways for employees to go have fun yet with bizarre limitations including, 1. employees hold liability, 2. must still sign liability forms, 3. must have open invitations for 8+ different employees each time across departments, 4. no alcohol. It could not sound any less fun, regardless of it being a fake benefit.
While not addressing the Madison accusations, he defends the same HR bullshit that led up to it, meaning forcing the victims to, 1. solve their problems themselves, or 2. go through management that didn't care or they didn't trust, before HR would consider stepping in. Now their HR is internal instead of third party, which merely replaces that aversion to deal with problems with conflict of interest to protect the company.
I have no doubt working for such a spotlight company among peers of similar age and interests is probably fun, I used to do similar work, and probably explains why the attrition is so low because they'd prefer this minimum wage work to wageslaving at McDonalds, but on the flip side there's still 1 in 5 employees that do not look forward to coming to work and do not feel the culture is positive, and even more do not receive the feedback they need.
Incredibly, he plays the victim yet again through claims that his employees are being bullied online, as if ignoring retards online even compares to having to deal with retarded management within the company. This is a such a bizarre scapegoat because one of the corpo slides even says their increase in mental health coverage is due to stress and burnout from crunch (mismanagement), not the public nature of the work. Being so out of touch, he then shows footage of their parking lot of employees coming and going, as if that at all exemplifies what stress they have? Instead I spot maybe one Tesla, referring back to the old lie that Linus paid his employees well, though in this video he claims he twice gave every employee a $10,000 bonus, which is a solid amount but doesn't exactly bring them out of Canadian poverty, but remember he was offered at least $100,000,000 for his company of <100 employees, and gives them zero equity.

In the new video Linus specifically stated that the team in charge of the hardware used in the videos “didn’t do anything wrong” but “we want to make extra sure something doesn’t end up at our Christmas parties when it was on loan.”

Not after they were told that they wanted it back, but after they agreed to give it back. Even if Billet Labs, no strings attached, fully transferred ownership of the item to LMG initially; once LMG agreed to return it, it is no longer their property and are bound to return it.

That doesn't change the fact they were told they could keep it originally. Asking for something back doesn't mean you're automatically granted that item back if you already gave up possession of it.
It wasn't a horrendous piece of shit, they never presented it that way. The product is extremely niche and pointless with only small results for a large amount of money. This makes it bad/pointless for most consumers, which was Linus's point, not that itself is a bad product.

This isn't how things work. If you give up possession of something and then you request it back, even if I give you a verbal agreement of giving it back it doesn't mean there's any obligation to do so.
Does it make Linus and co massive dicks? Absolutely. Is it stealing? No, that's a retarded take. It's them being completely incompetent with their communication internally and mismanaging their inventory. Stealing implies they wanted it for personal gain when they most certainly wanted to get rid of it. They should have given it back, I've said in the thread before they are retarded for not doing so and it's a shame they didn't.
