Time will tell if Linus has actually been humbled. Of course he's fixating on corporate operations and getting lost in the day-to-day inconsistencies, but it's his uncontrolled egomania that does lasting damage in the long run as the man behind his company's name.

I'm curious if GamersNexus will tackle trying to respond to the delayed response, but I don't think that he really needs to (yet).

This response was craftfully constrained to a "community response" subject range and that's why I think certain topics never saw the light of day. This was a brilliant move on their part. If they brought in names or particular instances, they're opening the door to another raging Madison thread and it gives GN the green light to respond outright (once again). Keeping it constrained to the community strangely enough makes it a bit more difficult for other someones to construct a counter-response without looking like they have a bone to pick.

It's probably frustrating for Madison who was hoping to further milk this and drag LTT kicking and screaming to her next mental health checkup. Don't get me wrong, I believe she was subjected to a toxic work environment. She's the type of person that will be targeted and harassed, but will also build up a list of grievances because of the constant need for validation and maybe even vulnerable narcissism.

I think it's fine to enrich your company's labour force with activities. The issue comes in when you become a LA style adult day care centers where no work gets done. Just look at how X(Twitter) employees were reacting when Elon musk said that remote work was being decreased/eliminated, and were expected to work normal 40 hr weeks. LTT really does have that "Adult daycare" atmosphere when you see Linus read off the benefits. Not to mention I personally believe that these issues are still very deep rooted and I absolutely can't believe these issues will be fixed in just one week.

I once worked on a place that, frankly, was a scam. They "transferred" language (for legal reasons, they didn't want us to say "teach" or call ourselves "teachers" or say the sessions were "classes", etc.). The language people, we were good people, we did the best we could with the tools we were forced to use. But the sales people? Demons.
They'd offer customers literally anything they wanted to get them to sign up for these "language sessions". And every day, every single day, in the early morning they'd have these "team building exercises" with music and dance and screaming and jumping around to hype themselves up and create this cult mentality required to become deranged and go out to FUCKING SCAM PEOPLE, schoolchildren, old people, dead-end workers hoping to gain language skills to move up in the world, etc.
Then we'd have to deal with the poor, dumb, desperate people trying to learn, but they wouldn't, because the tools we had were shit and we were actually forbidden from teaching properly, or go off-script to give them actually useful tips or information. I got called to the manager's office and yelled at once because I explained to someone (a customer who was actually quite proficient on his own and asked about this sort of thing) what true and false cognates were.
Of course I left soon after.

So I'm immediately wary (if not seething with hatred) at the mere mention of team-building exercises and/or other various activities at work that are not actually the work.

For that matter, every shitty job I've had insisted in these kind of additional activities, often not mandatory but if you didn't, you knew you were losing points with management. And the single best office I ever worked at? None of that bullshit. They took us bowling once, would surprise us with rewards when we managed to, say, turn a client account's results around or get client commendations, and so on. But nothing was ever expected from us beyond doing the work we were brought in to do.

We have no idea if they gave them this item on the condition they only use it for videos/testing. However, "you can keep it" implies a full transfer of ownership, which invalidates any "theft by conversion" claims,. If there was some sort of clause given that they had to use this device for testing or builds in the initial exchange, you'd have a case for theft by conversion. As it stands, it's not "textbook" at all as ownership was entirely transferred if the phrase "you can keep it" was used, which it was here. Theft by conversion only works when you violate the agreement of the exchange.

None of this excuses it again and it's incredible how poor internal communications must be there. But saying LTT tried to steal something they wanted nothing to do with, only to sell it off, not even for profit but for charity, and calling it theft is retarded.

That screenshot shows nothing relevant to being theft, it's a cherrypicked list of quotes from GN's video of the exchange. As it stands, you can take all of his words as truth and still reach the same conclusion: they fucked up royally, they tried to lie and cover their tracks, but that doesn't make it theft. The differentiator is that theft implies they were trying to maliciously take this cooler, either for profit or to use internally. Neither of these are the case, they wanted this thing out of inventory so badly they chucked it on the first charity auction they could find. The fact that Billet gave up full rights to it initially means they have no case here, even if they are completely morally in the right.
