No LTT video today, that GN blog post probably made Linus to go full damage control

The thing is that actual serious reviews would take effort and NOT fucking everything up. 2 things that Linus has demonstrated that he has no interest in.What part of Steve basically saying "I want Luke as my only contact at LTT because Linus is an unbearable egotist that makes even professional communication impossible, let alone friendship" says "I WANT A TECHIE TRUCE" to this retard? Total Reddit Death.
Also it's funny that even Anthony realized they're making entertainment at LTT and not consumer advocacy content. In those emails with Steve Anthony specifically mentions how they kept sections of him fucking up in the CPU delidding video because he thought it'd be more interesting/funny (not sure I agree that fucking up a $1000 CPU de-lidding is... funny/more interesting content than just trying to do it optimally, but whatever).
I also think there's an easy way to settle the issues LTT is having with entertainment vs consumer advocacy/review content. They should just make a separate channel specifically for GPU reviews or more serious videos where performance statistics are genuinely important! They already have a product showcase channel with ShortCircuit, just expand it a little bit or make LTT Reviews or some shit for serious GPU/hardware reviews. Keep these Mr. Beast/pure entertainment content for the average retard videos separate from the serious reviews and put someone with no ego in charge of it and you'll be able to have your cake and eat it too.
the people dumb enough to buy a 3060 over a 6700xt because of "raytracing" aren't the brightestI don't quite get the bitching about drama and investigations and whatnot being on the main channel.
They can just, you know, not watch it. Just don't click on the video. It's not hard.
It's also just bullshit, because Linus has gone out of his way to publicly drop and blow up sponsors before, like with Tunnelbear (VPN) just because they got bought by McAfee. Apparently that was super necessary to warn everyone about, but not the (very incredibly likely illegal) actual scam that effectively steals money from people.Their cope of not wanting sponsorship drama is ridiculous. They could have just sent a "tip" to any of the larger YouTube channels. I'm sure Steve or Jayz2cents will keep it all confidential. At the end of the day, it's either laziness or indifference to their "fellow creators" they claim that a tide will rise all ships. I think it's indifference. They simply don't care about anyone but themselves.
In Steve's signature:
Is this a common saying? Because the first person I've ever heard to use this in the context of YouTube videos was LegalEagle.a rising tide lifts all ships
Here's a long shot. Maybe Steve should go and check his gmail account, specifically google voice related stuff. Google records your Internet calls, this is an opt-out only feature. They even have a neat search function, plug in the word "autistic" to see what happens. We also allege that there were derogatory comments made by Linus Sebastian in a conversation with Steve Burke on a private phone call on August 31, 2021 at 7:31 PM Eastern lasting 9m 43s, where Sebastian referred to Burke as being “less autistic than you used to be;” however, with no recording of said call, this can only be alleged and there is no additional evidence to provide. Ultimately, these examples, among others still being kept private as a courtesy, made me personally uncomfortable engaging in private communications with Linus Sebastian when relating to editorial differences, perceived or actual.
I mean, yeah. It's transparent as day isn't it? These gay tricks he's pulling might work on low level employees that can't give a damn but it's not really going to work on adults.Frankly speaking: I feel Linus Sebastian has provided a manipulative and deceptive offer to try to “bury the hatchet,” create a “team media,” and encourage a “brotherhood” as if it is a personal spat between friends.
At Computex, if Luke wishes to, or if Luke and Linus Sebastian (collectively only), wish to speak privately, please feel free to let me know and we can talk.
Degrees above room temperature?Already was, just look at his rants about how manufacturers should advertise their fans based on degrees above absolute zero, rather than something more reasonable (room temperature, which is presumably what most of them do whenever they aren't just making these numbers up because that also provides the biggest numbers in terms of percentage improvement).
Chill out.Degrees above room temperature?
How's that any different to using Celsius or Fahrenheit? Actually, it's worse. Room temperature is a range. Whatever number in your mind (21 Celsius or whatever) is wrong.
Also, room/ambient temperature has a regulatory definition. This is because workplaces must adhere to such a figure. Moreover, other temperature ratings have regulatory definitions too, such as for the sake of transporting medical supplies at "deep freeze temperatures". What's worse? WHO has their own recommendation too. Who should we follow?
Was his rant not on advertisers using room-temperature-relative scales for percentage metrics, which is at best misleading? That's where absolute zero comes in - it's misleading to call 40°C over ambient a 20% improvement over 50°C over ambient when that relies on chopping off most of the scale, but it's fine to present them as raw numbers - indeed, I'm pretty sure that most GN temperature charts are in raw degrees over ambient.Chill out.
Yeah room temperature isn’t exact or something with a single definition, but the range of commonly accepted room temperatures will be a lot closer to what the average home user will use these fans in than absolute zero is. You could measure before in Fahrenheit and after in Celsius and the result would still be less useless than going from absolute zero. Please apply your brain.
What he was ranting about was that the advertised improvement should be measured before and after in kelvin, and the percentage improvement derived from that. It’s not incorrect from a physics perspective, but it’s autistic and useless because these computers are used in room temperature rooms, ie around 292-295 kelvin (no, that’s not anyone’s official definition of room temperature, it’s a range that encompasses what I personally consider room temperature, so keep your autism to yourselves), and the fans are being used to replace warm inside air with cool ambient air. So the most useful metric to a consumer is how much more effective a given fan is at moving air measured from an ambient temperature of room temperature. Which Gamersnexus rails against because that also happens to be what gives manufacturers prettier number. Was his rant not on advertisers using room-temperature-relative scales for percentage metrics, which is at best misleading? That's where absolute zero comes in - it's misleading to call 40°C over ambient a 20% improvement over 50°C over ambient when that relies on chopping off most of the scale, but it's fine to present them as raw numbers - indeed, I'm pretty sure that most GN temperature charts are in raw degrees over ambient.
not to sound like a shill, but DeepSeek fixes and colloquializes grammer for English to Chinese translations. in general its expensive but possible to have real time translation on glasses now.>會說中文。如果比較容易,我們可以用中文
(Can speak Chinese. If it is easier, we can use Chinese.)
I'm not sure what to say of this, I find it both cute and quite endearing because it's obviously not a soulless Google translate job. It's like listening to one of my younger relatives try and greet me in English (or grammatically, the English language)
To expand on this with a more significant and recent example (although I agree with Linus dropping Tunnelbear because fuck McAfee). Back in 2022, the same year Linus quietly dropped Honey, it was discovered that Eufy, Anker's line of "end-to-end encrypted" security cameras, had several security flaws and bad security practices which went against their promise of being "end-to-end encrypted". Linus, who had Anker as a sponsor, not only dropped their sponsorship, but also addressed it head-on with Luke on a WAN show segment (and he also discussed them on other WAN show episodes as that saga progressed with Anker apologizing and promising to fix their shit). It's also just bullshit, because Linus has gone out of his way to publicly drop and blow up sponsors before, like with Tunnelbear (VPN) just because they got bought by McAfee. Apparently that was super necessary to warn everyone about, but not the (very incredibly likely illegal) actual scam that effectively steals money from people.
My own autistic theory to explain in-part Linus being so assmad is that he might be secretly jealous of MegaLag discovering the other bullshit Honey is doing, including shit which affected the consumer more than the creators, despite LMG discovering their affiliate link poaching years before.
You got more chance of being hit by a clown car driven by Mohammed Ali, than getting him to come out with a mea culpa now. He is too defensive and asshurt. He would not want to give Steve a win. Appealing to Luke is the only way this gets a boilerplate corpo dead response. That asides, even this Honey drama could be Salvageable if Linus could admit guilty on it
Came here to post it if it wasn't up yet. Excellent so far.
