Also, I'm getting tired of perverts saying the age of consent is 16. Yes it is, but only if you're within two years (unless you're in Florida, then it's 24). If he bangs a 16 year old, he's still guilty of statutory rape. 18 is the minimum age that it would be legal for him to have sex with, but no teenager is going to let him touch her without being a basket of issues herself. Hell, women his own age obviously don't want anything to do with him.

EDIT: Looks like I'm a moron. A 16 year old can have sex with anyone 16 or older, regardless of the age difference in Washington State. But I can admit I'm wrong. Doesn't make it any less creepy though. I want to buy every young woman in the Olympia area 16-30 mace in case they happen to cross paths with Lucas.

Depends where you are. In many states (including Washington) it's a straight 16 (with some exceptions like teachers). People like Lucas Werner are a good reason for raising it, though.

I question whether the age of consent might actually contribute to these people wanting to go after children because it gives the impression of them being "forbidden" thus making those just at the age of consent more vulnerable to abuse by these perverts. That being said raising the age of consent to 21 would make them go after more competent victims

I think 18 is a good age. You can vote, join the military, enter into contracts. Seems like a good age. To set the age of consent at I mean. Setting it at 21 would turn a lot of otherwise law-abiding 18 year olds into criminals.
