If Ben is indeed trolling Lucas, he's doing it in the worst way possible. Not only did he use his real Facebook account (instead of a throwaway), he also sent Lucas his LinkedIn profile - which has a ton of info on it. This could be damaging for him both personally and professionally, so he's literally playing with fire here.

If you know him and you're intervening now, why didn't you do so earlier? His involvement with Lucas has been prominent and recurring all over all of Lucas's multiple accounts. There's no way you could have been unaware of this if you literally run a group dedicated to monitoring Lucas's activity online.

What gobsmacks me is that he was the one who originally "alerted" us to the fan page's posts about SOFALAW. If he runs the fan page it appears he was deliberately trying to cause drama within my group, which pisses me off.

Frankly, I created the group after I ran into Lucas in an atheist group years ago, and created it as a joke. It literally had me and one friend as members and we did nothing with it until the Starbucks incident last year.

I've kept the group up because it's amusing, but it's never been srs business to me, and no one ever really caused drama before.

All of the drama surrounding my group has literally cropped up in the couple of weeks that Lucas has been back.

So yeah, I do bear some responsibility because I wasn't paying enough attention. I apologize for that. Now hopefully it can all be rectified.

I was tired of people posting "that seems too well written/put together for Lucas to have done it" over and over for the past several pages when it had already been explained repeatedly. Wanted to hopefully put an end to that with a more in-depth explanation with evidence.

And this Ben Palmer guy is an idiot. Not my problem, and I don't encourage anyone here to mess with him, but he's still an idiot.

I had a chat with Ben. He says that the offers to be Lucas's publicist were low grade trolling that failed a while back. He's not sure why the Lucas Werner fan page is claiming he's an admin or owner of the page.

I couldn't just take his word for it, and asked him to provide proof.

Either way, there's no proof positive he's the one behind it. I asked him to prove it wasn't him, and he provided proof in good faith and very short order. It took about 2 minutes from the time I requested the screenshot to the time he provided it.

At this point I can't in good conscience assume his guilt. In our private discussion he seemed like a decent guy, and expressed the exact same concerns with egging Lucas on that we have here.

Right now, deciding whether he's lying or not is as much a personal choice as it is based in any kind of fact.

I never really saw the point of trolling or weening Lucas. The guy clearly provides material on his own, and based on what I've seen, trying to force anything outta him results in temporary stagnation.

Thank you for taking the time to speak to Ben, so we can hear his side of the story. Given that there's somewhere in the total of seven to eight thousand people following Lucas across three different pages finding out who the troll is going to be difficult. That being said bad trolls (or weens) always slip up somehow, so it's only a matter of time before they reveal themselves.
