We do know the Freak is violent and already has a DV conviction. He got banned from HOC when in a rage became verbally abusive toward the young nurse and the other women staff. Security had to intervene. And this was in front of other people at the shelter. As he gets older, more desperate, he'll be building more rage. I don’t know why but I’m super offended that you’d even compare the two.

Full disclosure, I lived in Anchorage when Keyes did (and when James Dale Richie did) so I felt particularly obsessed with both as it’s weird to be in a pretty small area with two active serial killers, and I have friends who worked with Keyes’s GF (not a PL, Alaska is just small in terms of population. Everyone is connected somehow).

Keyes is light years more intelligent and aside from being fairly impulsive (at the end) and very sexually deviant. Yes, Israel Keyes’ suicide note feels melodramatic. But not for the teenage immaturity that Lucas embodies. Instead, I attribute his gothic-y note tone to his psychopathy, narcissistic ego, and belief that he’s superior and the most important person alive, which is sorta Lucas, but not psychopathic. Lucas is incredibly emotional, but not empathic. Sexual sadists, like Keyes, are pretty empathic—they just don’t care. The whole point of sadists is wanting to inflict pain. So they are actually pretty attuned to the emotions of others (theory of mind is intact)—they just don’t care that it causes the victim pain. It doesn’t make them stop. It makes them keep going. Lucas lacks any ability to recognize the emotions or wants of others accurately much less care about them, because narcissism/immaturity.

I see the point you're making, but as a combat veteran, I would rather spend time with Lucas, vs Keyes. He made us look bad, and unfourntly, as a whole the public sees one shit bag veteran, they apply it to all of us. Granted he was a leg, and I spent my entire time in the army in the airborne and special operations community, he still made us look bad. I cannot find Keyes exact ets date, but it was 2001, and definitely before 9/11. If it had been after, he would have been stop lossed, and he could've easily reenlisted. His killing began in '96. He could've stayed in and legally killed. I'm not complimenting Lucas or anything of the sort, so please don't think so. But Keyes told his interrogators that he would list all of his crimes, but because he was a gigantic pussy, he killed himself because he didn't have the balls to face his punishment. He didn't care about anyone or anything but himself. He killed Samantha Koenig while his girlfriend and daughter were 15 feet away. They're both pieces of shit, but Keyes is just a tiny bit worse than Lucas.

Maybe, but speaking as someone who’s 5’1” and small-framed, I’d be very nervous around someone like Lucas irl. I work out and consider myself to be in reasonably good shape, but it’d be very difficult to fight off someone who weighs 2-3 times what I do. Not to mention the fact that I’d have to be in close range to land a blow whereas someone over 6 feet can reach much further. I could definitely outrun Lucas, but someone his size amped up on rage and adrenaline and maybe even a soda could definitely pose a physical threat if I didn’t have a chance to run.

I can only speak for myself, and I’m sure there are small women out there who could take him down, but I think that logistically it would be pretty difficult to fight off someone of his size.

Very true… although I don’t know that I’d have the clarity of mind to strategically attack vs just freaking out. Which is probably why I should take self defense classes… but I digress. I think it’s definitely possible for someone smaller to take down the Wern, but I also think he realistically poses a physical threat. Again, I can’t speak for anyone other than myself here, but while I could likely knee a groin, if a 300-pound dude tackled me to the ground it’d be a whole lot harder to get away.

Lucas is an interesting subject in what you need to defend yourself against.
Most self defense classes I've been apart of (helping at not attending) will teach you how to handle a known subject ie male attacker 5'10 to 6'3 unarmed or armed with a knife or stun gun.
Adrenaline is absolutely amazing in making someone who is not a threat become a true and honest threat. I regard most instructors as by the book by the "norm" of self defense if you look at most SD classes they aren't actually doing much for your street fight but more for a DV fight between spouses. They definitely don't factor in to account that some are so retarded that cannot feel pain

I don't make the automatic assumption that Lucas is infact a threat because he's a known variable in a fight with known medical problems and known weaknesses, But if he was an unknown I'd probably take him very seriously in an fight as again Adrenaline is a fucking human produced fuck shit up drug.
Someone doped on enough Adrenaline could rival a meth pumped pit bull, He is still Lucas and being so his Adrenaline seeks to be overcome by his pussy nature.

Do I think Lucas is a threat to a small framed girl under 21? Yes. Is he a big enough threat to be on a list? Yes. Is he a threat to more than one person? I'd say probably not but I'm sure he could cause physical harm before the other could cause him to flee.
I don't believe Lucas could get away with a crime for very long be it rape or assault as he's well known to police and local people. And I generally don't believe he's smart enough to know how to properly evaluate a situation where he could do anything without being stopped instantly.

All in all take Lucas as Lucas and not someone who's harmless but not someone who can make you into a handbag and your nipples into a belt.
