There are plenty of people we know existed indisputably that we don't know the location of their remains or they've otherwise been lost. William the conqueror comes to mind, as does pretty much any famous ancient roman. Hell the vast majority of people who have ever lived up to this point have no remains to find. The vast majority of dinosaurs too for that matter. The ones we find are fossilized, which is very rare thing to happen naturally in itself. It requires very specific conditions. There are likely tens of thousands of species we'll never know existed because they never left fossilized remains
Considering lucas's own weird attempts at using reverse psychology it could be that on some level he assumes everyone else who does that is lying and the truth is the opposite of what they're saying because thats the kind of shit he does himself.
