Exhausted and throwing up again. Sounds like his kidneys aren't having a good day. This is exactly how he described the lead up to the first puking incident. We can add the need for infrastructure to the list of things lucas does not understand. Or the idiot he's quoting either. Indeed, in a normal healthy person its usually not all that serious but in someone like lucas, who checks off almost all of the boxes for complications and risk factors it can be very serious. Something I suspect even lucas understands. I suspect his recent rants about healthcare and such are because he knows he's doing alot worse than he's letting on, and even todays post about potentially dying implies he's concerned on some level and its slipping out into what he says publicly
Its likely that his near miracle of getting put in mallon place is the only thing that has kept him alive this long. Had he been out on the street all this time he'd have been fucked long before now. If he manages to fuck it up there and get kicked out he won't last long. Especially given his apparently worsening health. He'll fuck up his meds, the temperature will make it worse and that will be it for him
His birthday is a week from today, I wonder if he'll still be in the hospital by then. If so, he's going to be pissed he missed his free birthday meal at dennys or wherever it was he keeps bragging about every year
Lucas likes to screech about how great universal healthcare is, but has no actual experience with it. Being canadian I do, and let me tell you its fucked. You wait months at a minimum for most surgeries, the hospital wait for the ER is scary long even for things that should be addressed asap. I've seen a guy with a dislocated vertebra in his neck who spent my entire 8 hour shift in the ER sitting in a wheelchair screaming to the point he went into convulsions from the pain, fell out of his wheelchair, was put back into it and left there with no additional meds. He was still there when my shift ended and was there hours before it started. I've seen a guy get his finger accidently get bitten off playing tug of war with his dog and he sat in the ER for 12 hours with it on ice waiting to get in to get it reattached. He was very, very close to that finger being unviable for reattachment. and literally 48 hours ago a friend of mines sister ended up in the ER because she was doing deadlifts and pushed too hard. The paramedics had to dose her with morphine and fentanyl and she was still screaming by the time they got to the ER. The idiot nurse said she was 'being dramatic' and refused to push her ahead for an xray to see if any major damage was done. It took 7 hours and a family member showing up threatening to make a legal issue out of it to get her in for a simple fucking xray. and guess what? This 'dramatic' screaming patient had a compression fracture of the lower spine and had torn most of the muscles and tendons in her back. Something they would have known hours and hours earlier and would have been able to treat her properly for if they'd taken a few minutes to get her a simple five minute xray. She had swelling to the point her legs were going numb by the time they did their job ffs
That is what lucas is advocating for. Is the US healthcare system fucked up? Absolutely, it needs plenty of changes. But remember, canada only has around 40 million people requiring those healthcare resources here and its that bad. Now consider what 320+ million americans with the same system would have to look forward to. Lucas does not understand what he is asking for and if he were to get it he would be at the very bottom of the list for getting the medical help he needs. He'd be in an objectively worse situation than he is now in the system he wants

Does Lucas ever taken to wandering past downtown Spokane? I've seen quite a few homeless in the Valley and on the Northside, and I've wondered if he was ever one of them.
