Lucas is the epitome of an unreliable narrator. He lies constantly, and even when he tells the truth its by accident and purely a case of being such a bad liar that he inadvertently speaks fact. Even when he intends to tell the truth he still speaks unverifiable (and often easily debunkable) bullshit because hes so dumb and suffers from both mental delusions and a complete lack of understanding how the world works.
Right now, we have no proof such a love letter (much less the doctors at the psych ward "crying" over how "beautiful" it was) exists except that notoriously unreliable narrator Lucas claims such a letter exists.
When lucas tells the actual truth its almost always either by accident or when he thinks the truth benefits him in some way. When he doesn't flat out make something up its usually him making it partially up and telling a version of the truth that he thinks makes him look good or otherwise look like a victim of whatever the situation is. He's the living embodiment of that simpsons scene where lionel hutz explains to marge the difference between the truth and the 'truth' when she was doing a shit job being too honest as a realtor. Lucas tries to pull that thing that good liars do where they include enough truth for the lie to be believable and then alot of bs that makes up the rest of the lie. The problem is lucas is an idiot and can't pull that off for shit. It does however speak volumes of his mentality. He almost comes off as some kind of half retarded, special needs vorta. That said I don't believe for a second he's telling the truth about the letter. Though I do suspect there was in fact a letter that he wrote. Though the context, purpose and outcome was not what lucas claims it was. What I think happened is lucas was sent to the hospital after spazzing out too much at mallon place and when the doctors started asking him questions about why he was flipping his shit he told them about this woman at mallon place he's fixated on and how it was making him go mental cause she rejected him and all that. The doctors set him up to speak to yet another therapist who then 'suggested' he work through his feelings of anger and rejection by writing them down in the form of a letter. a 'tell her how you feel in your own words' exercise the therapist could then read and see whats going on in his head while also letting lucas vent his anger and feelings without spazzing out. Lucas being lucas didn't understand this was a therapist using it as a diagnostic tool on him and thought he was getting a chance to send her a real letter and show off his supposed writing skills so the therapist was playing into his ego to go along with it. It was never intended to be sent to her (and probably wouldn't be a good idea legally to do so anyway for obvious reasons....) and everybody just told lucas what he wanted to hear to shut him up and calm him down and then upped his meds for a few days and warned him he can't keep behaving like this

It was recently tugboat day, plus whatever he got from his parents was probably enough for some small shitty pizzas but probably took everything he had. Either that or he threw some money in with everybody else for some pizza. They might have one of those 2 shitty pizzas for $20 kind of deals which would likely be in his price range
That said fucking yikes. As I said he is definitely fixated on her to the point he's legitimately trying to steal her away from the guy. That will not end well for anyone involved, least of all lucas. He clearly did not learn his lesson during his time at the hospital (gee theres a surprise) he has become far too comfortable and used to pushing his boundaries at mallon place. He's asking for an incident. Sooner or later one of them is going to realize his intent and tell him to fuck off, possibly calling his behavior creepy or any number of his usual trigger words and he's going to lose it again. Lucas does not tolerate rejection well. Its exactly this kind of behavior and clearly doubling down on it thats going to get him into big trouble and may even get his ass kicked out if he isn't very, very careful. One spazzout is one thing. Sometimes that shit happens with the kinds of idiots they have in places like that, but they won't allow him to make a habit of it or get creepy with a female resident. Thats 'deal with this guys behavior or you're going to get your ass sued off and risk ending up on the news especially given this particular creeps history' territory
Lucas's entitlement in that post is dialed up to 11. Aside from the irony of his years of claiming he can steal any woman from any man simply by introducing himself and warned people if they brought a woman he liked to his fartbox he would do just that, he's clearly got it in his head from the way he's talking that she was already his and this other guy somehow took her from him, when he never had her in the first place. Thats dangerous territory for lucas as it can easily lead to him doing something stupid and getting himself into trouble. He had a psychotic freakout over the nurse and his perceived rival for her affections at the homeless shelter for alot less than that. At least the shelter could tell him to fuck off, in this situation a repeat of that sort of incident could easily lead to him being arrested
One way or another, history always repeats itself with lucas. Everything he does is one big cycle. He always manages to find a way to push too far, get himself into big trouble and get kicked out of his fartboxes one way or another. Its just a question of time. Given his health he should be far more concerned about that outcome than he used to be, especially with winter well on the way. Mallon place has kept him alive and medicated, not just psych meds but actual necessary meds for his kidneys and such. If he gets kicked out he'll never stay on them and his health is going to drop like a rock again. Though myrna trying to explain how the place she raved about being such a great environment for him having suddenly kicked his ass out will be quite the post. No doubt she'll leave out the reasons for it and play up the 'they kicked out my poor innocent son with mental health problems and failing kidneys! they're evil!' despite knowing full well of his history and that he always manages to fuck things up for himself eventually

That shit is at the forefront of lucas's manipulative mentality. He deliberately tries to present himself as someone you totally don't have to worry about stealing your woman or being creepy toward her and all that but if he thinks he can he won't think twice about doing it and ending up putting himself in a bad situation when it backfires or he gets his ass kicked. He's alternated between 'I would never cockblock anyone or even talk to anyone who has a boyfriend and they shouldn't talk to me either! ree!' and 'you better not bring your girlfriend to my apartment or i'll take her from you. she can stay here with me and you can go live at the homeless shelter' its all low IQ predator behavior to a T
and yeah i'm very curious about how old this woman is as well. Surely lucas, as stupid as he is doesn't think some woman his age is a zoomer bae? I mean even for him thats retarded. He claims to know when someone is a particular age alot but thats just him bsing to cover up the fact he knew full well they weren't. Like the 'she looked 22!' he always tries to pull when finding out a woman is actually a minor. I can't imagine a zoomer bae being in mallon place though or likely even an older millennial. Sure goes against lucas's usual rejection of anyone who isn't a zoomer bae or at least can pass for close to his early 20s at most demand. It makes me wonder if he's sicker than he lets on and this is partially being driven by one of those situations where somebody finds out they're dying and goes a little mental cause the instinct to reproduce kicks in. Its not all that uncommon (happened alot in ww2 with soldiers) and wouldn't be good for anybody involved if something like this started to mess with lucas's already fucked up brain
Lucas's current behavior is absolutely working up to an incident involving this girl and the boyfriend. Its going to be quite the scene when it happens no doubt. Perhaps christmas came early this year after all
