Lucas claimed a 'woman in texas with kids' paid for his bus ticket to get back but a) that doesn't make any sense as a woman with kids in a different state at christmas doesn't just randomly happen across lucas and give him an expensive ticket home at christmas when money is tight, especially given he was acting like a loon and everybody knows he was there to meet a teen girl and b) it doesn't make sense that larry would reach out to wernology so he could get in touch with lucas.... only to say fuck it when he found out the details and refuse to get him a ticket, yet also somehow decide to rent him a motel 6 for a few days when he did somehow manage to find someone to get him home. It reeks of wern logic and his usual looney inconsistencies that he thinks people don't notice. The woman story fits with everything he thinks a woman should be (kind to him, has kids, gives him money to go home no questions asked, is a 'good christian' for doing this for some random pedo bum when the money could have gone toward her kids and family, doesn't ask questions or comment on why he's really there, etc...) it screams he made her up entirely and did it to hide the fact that larry got the info from wernology, got lucas's side of the story, realized the whole thing was retarded and that lucas clearly did do something wrong and likely bailed him out only because there was no actual teen girl involved in the end. Likely giving lucas a strongly worded warning that nothing like that was to ever happen again or he'd be left to deal with it himself and quietly given a ticket to get home. Probably while being told to keep his mouth shut about the details cause bailing lucas out of the situation, especially after that phone call from 'mias dad' would be a bad look for the rest of the family. Hence lucas thought he would be clever and made up this random woman, but being lucas somehow twisted her into one of his ideals of what a woman has to be to get on his good side and told on himself. I suspect it was larry who also doordashed him the nachos that lucas never got to actually eat cause they didn't show up until after the bus left - because why would anyone else do that and lucas no doubt whined to larry about how he was totally starving to death at that point
