The background chatter comment was in response to me lmao it is BAFFLING to me that he refuses to accept that that isn't normal. We have all seen that the Wern IS capable of recognizing when things are not okay and when he needs to hide his tendencies, but he absolutely cannot comprehend the fact that it. is. not. normal. to. hear. voices. It's crazy considering how he cowers from authority and WILL stop doing things if he knows it will get him in trouble or make him look extra terrible, but his peabrain won't allow him to accept that there is no such thing as "background noise" in most situations, and in situations where there are lots of people around and you can hear them talking around you, normal people do not listen to what is being said and act accordingly, like how he's said that "people in the background" tell women that he is a bad guy so they don't go out with them. No one is hearing people talking around them and listening in so that they know what to do, how to act, who to talk to, etc. Additionally, no one is following Lucas around whispering in the ears of any women in the tristate area that they should avoid him (not that that would be a bad thing, but it isn't happening). The fact that he still hasn't learned that he shouldn't openly talk about the "background noise" and the "voices on the wind" is baffling to me.
