diabetic shoes are a prosthetic covered by most state's public option health insurance. it's to stave off pressure sores that are difficult to detect because of diabetic neuropathy. when i worked in a prison more than one fat bastard had to have them instead of the typical soft slipper style shoes we issued and part of it was officer training to recognize it as a prosthetic, and necessary (like a wheelchair) for court appearances, et c.

the thing is, they were deemed only medically necessary when a pressure injury was likely, meaning neuropathy and damage was already done and there was a danger of serious damage merely from walking around or standing in place because the prisoner couldn't feel it when the skin and flesh started to break down in some spots like balls of the foot, heel, sometimes at the knuckle of the toe (sores from bony prominence pressing on thinner bits of flesh basically).

I am thinking this is more or less true. People like Lucas always put the horse before the cart. Applying for a job to him means he is hired, due to being plenty good. Now, just like his ID card was stopping him from posting up on Lower Post Street and meeting the gen Z baes of the age gap scene, so will his diabetic shoes stop him from working. But don't get him wrong, diabetic shoes or not, he has strong genes that will produce stronger baby DNA.

Lucas would at least need some training for any cashier job that he would have talked about, therefore I think he just applied, maybe got an e-mail or call that they'd contact him which made him think he'd get the job, and then got rejected after. Cashiers have to stand around all day too which wouldn't make it a good fit with his broken feet, along with many other obvious reasons.

Lucas really needs a job where he's not among the public.

This happened once before...a few years ago when he got in trouble with the management at the first fartbox and was told to stay off of Youtube. I think that was part of what got him downgraded over to Pioneer.

He seems to be going back into aggressiveness very fast this time...literally woke up out of a stupor a few days ago and started back up out of nowhere. Both with hounding women and with the communist street preaching stuff. Something is definitely going on.

That said, I wonder if part of this is some kind of big brained scheme to delete his channel and then lie low for a little while before popping up with a new channel under a different name like he did with IG, and thinking we'd never realize it. Worst case scenario for him there would be just not getting the job. He was moved to Pioneer Pathway because the Phoenix House is 6 mo. temporary housing for the mentally ill. Pioneer Human Services runs Phoenix House and owns Pioneer Pathway House. When his 6 mo. were up PHS moved him over to Pioneer Pathway.
