The comment about how his "future wife" is probably fucking some guy against a dumpster is very telling. One thing I've noticed about Lucas is that he tries to work himself up to be more jealous than he really needs to be. Like, it's enough that you haven't fucked in a decade and no one will fuck you, you don't need to imagine scenarios on top of that where your perfect future waifu is having degrading sex in a dirty semi-public location. If this is the case he might be in the early stages of deliberately psyching himself up to another spaz out, either to get his manic high back or because he doesn't like the effect his meds have on him and is trying to counteract them. If thats the case hes clearly not thinking ahead at all and is giving no consideration of what the consequences of deliberately psyching himself up like that could be for him. Last thing he wants is to be doped to the gills to keep him quiet or carted off to the psych ward again

Very good point about how he enjoys his mania, even though it's an angry mania. Anger, especially self-righteous anger, is probably one of the more positive emotions he can summon at this point. It's been many years since he was genuinely happy, and the alternative to manic anger is depressive sadness, the bipolar doesn't really allow for much else, especially unmedicated.

I also think part of it is narcissism and the way he feeds it with his delusional worldview. It simply has to be true. There are several key features I have identified that pin this current streak of mooing to Lucas’s wider pathology:

1. His move to semi-independent housing has essentially given Lucas the rope to hang himself with. He is now more isolated, overwhelmed with having to do his own ADLs (activities for daily living) and, as I stated earlier, is likely less or entirely non-compliant with his medication.

2. The transition of wider political/economic anger, wherein systems and faceless entities are blamed, into a more directed form of aggression; women and those he envies, AKA those that get them

3. With an increasing amount of lucidity and insight gained from drug therapy Luke has, ironically, likely had a chance to look at himself and his place in society and once again feel the ego-pain that comes with having over a decade of delusions of grandeur. The combination of this cognitive dissonance and his lofty aims of romance is delicious when paired with his particularly exceptional brand of milk.

Food for thought..

Lucas going through a cooking phase is typically an indicator of the start of a manic episode. I have two theories as to why.

The first is that cooking is part of his mating ritual. It’s an attempt for Lucas to show off his suitability as a provider. However, it’s clear that the process, like many activities considered ‘normal’ to a functioning adult like preparing a resume, is mentally and physically exhausting to him. The mental taxation that naturally derives will fatigue and confuse him, leading to increased agitation.

The second and slightly more kooky theory is that him cooking is a form of nesting behaviour. Once again, Lukey is on the prowl for young poon to inseminate. However he’s made it clear through both historical action and his own admission that he prefers the ‘stay at home’ role. Preparing delicious, wholesome meals like cheesey cukes is undeniably a form of nesting behaviour observed in ovulating and pregnant females of a variety of species. As Lucas has elected to take on a role usually assigned to female humans, AKA a kitchen wench, his sudden interest in cooking could be interpreted as an outward sign of his intent. Randyness boils inside him as he cooks his disgusting meals.
