What I also love is when Lucas says he had to do the "leg work" himself in trying to get a GF. Couple hilarious and telling possibilities there.
1) He doesn't understand that no actual relationship (in normal US communities at least) are/can be given to someone. Can you introduce people and put in a good word for somebody? Sure, but you can't just say "hey friend X, here's my other friend Y, now you're dating". I think this sums up Lucas' mindset pretty well, that it's somebody else's job to give him everything he wants (when/how/with whom he wants) with no effort on his part. As mentioned before, Lucas is INCREDIBLY lazy and greedy. He doesn't want to work at, or for, anything and yet he's owed everything under the sun.
2) As mentioned, plenty of people have introduced a friend to a potential Bf/Gf and the fact that this has never happened tells us that either Lucas doesn't now, and hasn't in the past, had any friends or that he has/had "friends" throughout his life (lets say from jr high and on) and yet not one of them at any time has been willing/able to introduce Lucas to someone. That says a lot about Lucas and that whatever bottom tier friendships he's ever had never have led to someone thinking Lucas was worth introducing to a girl/woman. Good on them.
Oh yeah he definitely thinks he is literally owed someone introducing and essentially assigning him a woman. He hasn't just hinted at believing this to be the case, he flat out admitted it at least once when he talked about how the government does everything for him, assigns him doctors, a payee, a tard wrangler (who at the time was apparently a woman....), etc... and literally twisted this around in his brain to follow that up with saying how it was the governments job to take care of him in every way and
does that not mean i'm entitled to a person? Apparently I am when comparing having a tard wrangler to having a girlfriend. The guy that did all those parody cooking videos of lucas's stuff even brought this up multiple times while making videos - saying things like
am I entitled to olive oil and half an onion? Apparently I am! to mock lucas's attitude
Thats his literal mentality. and since he sees it as applying to him he assumes thats how society works and that it somehow applies to everyone else essentially the same way as well (even though the entire premise ignores the fact that the government doesn't do any of that shit for you if you're not disabled, old or crazy so the entire premise is bs right from the start) so he assumes that it if this is true it must follow that a) other people are being greedy because they have more 'girlfriends' than they're entitled to cause he assumes everyone who is out in public with someone of the opposite sex in a way that isn't job or customer related is in a relationship and having sex and b) that since a) is true (in his mind) that it follows that other men must be able and therefore should be willing to hook him up/give him a zoomer bae girlfriend of his own and if they don't its somehow greedy in lucas's mind - doubly so seeing as he is 'being generous' by offering compensation in return (per his limited understanding of social interactions and basing virtually every interaction beyond things like hospital visits as directly transactional in some way) so they're even more greedy by turning this 'generous' offer down
He literally sees women as property an in an even more literal way than ancient greek men, roman patricians and medieval nobles viewed their wives and daughters. Sure, men in those times had what amounted to some degree of ownership rights over their wives and children and could marry them off or kill them under certain circumstances, and they did tend to do arranged marriages between families for various political purposes, but this isn't the sort of view lucas has about his greedy flatbill nemesis's hoarding all the women. He sees them as actual property you can buy, sell and trade like pokemon cards, puppies or loaves of bread at the store. and not just if they're your wife or daughter either. This extends to any female friends as well. He thinks its perfectly reasonable for you to hand out some female friends number to him cause he bought you dinner and that he should then be able to call her up at random and ask for a date, and that she should have to go along with this because you got dinner out of him. It never even remotely occurs to lucas that this is not a normal thing to do or to think is reasonable. Remember that bizarre message he sent to that sage woman who's number he found on some profile of hers and cold called her a bunch of bizarre messages that she recorded a video of reacting to? Any normal person would expect the same reaction she gave at best - but if it had been some friend of hers that gave lucas her number for a steak instead i'd have expected her to lose her shit on that friend and on lucas. I mean really, can you imagine the reaction of any woman you know if she got a bunch of voicemails from an infamous, deranged, obese hobo demanding a date, bragging about his sperm, talking about her fecund ova and such and then finding out you gave him her number cause he offered you a steak? You'd be having a real bad time after that one
But no, in lucas's twisted swiss cheese brain this is a perfectly reasonable transaction that the woman should have no problem with and is a greedy, ageist bigot if she does. Frankly its amazing he hasn't been on the news more and had more restraining orders on him for that behavior. It also really makes you wonder what really happened all those times he showed up with unexplained black eyes. He clearly has a history of pissing people off in public with his creepy behavior and looney rants that he keeps quiet about. I bet if you asked around the spokane homeless community you'd start to hear some interesting stories about him that he doesn't want anyone knowing about. I bet you'd shelter staff are aware of alot of antics and history that we aren't as well
Given his resentment and frustration with his job and the things he imagines going on there are starting to build up I suspect that sooner or later lucas is going to have a wern moment and fuck it all up, one way or another. and if he spazzes out and gets fired for it I can absolutely see him being angry enough to reee about it online and reveal where he was working, especially if he also gets banned from the store - just like he did when his blackmail scheme backfired on him
I also wonder how long it'll be before having that money and stuffing his face like he is puts him right back where he was when he ended up on dialysis and we get another wern in the hospital arc
