More cow posting. The military kind of gets all of those things. When you're active duty in the military you get housing or a housing allowance. Housing can be a bunk on a Navy ship or a bed and locker in a world war 2 era barracks. Now, the Air Force would get treated better, but that would be plenty good for an enlisted Navy service member. Also, you have covered healthcare on active duty.
Veterans have access to the GI Bill to help pay for an education, VA healthcare, and can also get VA loans to help buy a home. Now a VA loan is honestly not tons different than a conventional loan, so you're not given a house. And there are programs to help veterans find work
Lucas thinks these things should just be handed to everyone. They already sort of hand these things to him. Lucas gets Medicaid, got to go to community college, has been given discounted housing, gets food stamps. All kinds of handouts.
And no European countries don't just give people housing.
