I'm realizing some more things about The Wern...he really does have almost OPL-level patterns of predictable speech and thought.
For example, one aspect of the way Luke's brain works (or doesn't work) which is very much to his detriment, and ultimately an indicator of a weak intellect, is this tendency he has which I'll call the "One theory to explain everything".
I guess we all remember Lucas and his insane memes of bacon and eggs, ramped up to an even higher level of crazy with his insistence that people who eat these two "old and young" foods together would be hypocrites if they didn't also date and have sex within "the same" proscriptive old / young guidelines. Today Lucas repeated that those who don't like atheists shouldn't use Facebook. If two things go together here, they should go together over there; the principle should be all-applicable. If you don't like this aspect of a person, then you should be banned from all the fruits of his labor. It's a very childish "all or nothing" outlook, one which both logic and experience would demonstrate as unfeasible rather quickly, but not to Lucas!
Obviously this is insane, but it's what is suggested by this that is truly sad and telling, (and hilarious, if I'm being honest) and a window into his madness:
Lucas is searching for these rules which he can unquestioningly follow, without thinking, across all avenues of social interaction and daily life. He desperately wants an objective set of standards and regulations, because his Autist-like behavior (did we ever find out if he actually was?) and uber-creepitude make him blind to the social cues which govern friendships and intimate relationships....because these subtleties are subjective, and
Lucas can't do subjective. It's one of the reasons why the jargon of science he LARPs in all day is so comfortable for him: science is supposed to be objective, hard reality. The same answer, every time. No remainders, no subtlety. Obviously actual science contains unknowns and gray areas, but Lucas isn't interested in such deviations. He wants a set of simple guidelines, to (as he once memorably put it!) "science girls onto (his) dick".
Subjectivity terrifies Lucas, because he is unable to recognize what is and isn't socially acceptable behavior. He says in one of today's vids that he doesn't understand why acting "as nice as" an 18-year old guy, or even nicer than one, won't get him dates. The fact that some girls don't want nice, or that the nicest Lucas in the world is still dirty, fat, and creepy....these possibilities don't occur to him, or are too non-linear for him to deal with.
Lucas wants a straight line from A to B: I'm telling you that my body and your body are good for science and babies and DNA, so therefore, you should immediately date me. He doesn't see this as entitled, because he desperately needs this certitude. Sadly enough, CWC seems to be considerably more mature than Wern, as he's abandoned his Lovequest after repeatedly getting slapped down. Lucas has all of CWC's social cluelessness combined with this odd veneer of even-worse-than-CWC arrogance; a very off-putting combination.
For awhile I wondered if Lucas genuinely believed in this Telomere insanity, or whether it was just the evolution of Bernie Sanders, that is to say, his current technique to try and simplify the world of dating for himself, and whether it was just cynical fluff.
I'm still not sure. He says some things that are
so removed from logic....like the idea that all same-age couples argue, and all "age-gapped" couples get along. The idea that just spending time with Lucas lowers your chance of getting cancer, or being angry, stressed, and depressed, as though The Wern was made of wheatgrass and....... empty promises, I guess?
Anyway, I started trying to take dictation from this video before I gave up, but I did notice that Wern's speech patterns, when written down, actually reminded me more of OPL than I'd realized. Take a look:

Okay, it's 2017…and…I don't know if you've noticed this, about people in their twenties these days, kinda like they're always angry, depressed, or stressed out. When I was in my twenties, which was 17 years ago, I wasn't always angry, stressed out, and depressed. I had my moments of it, but I was mostly just… content. We call it "The Generation of Apathy"; Generation X, but of course, that generation ended up spawning a lot of, like, uh, I guess you could say, like start-up millionaires and billionaires. Ummm. And there's a lot of them in the Millennials, too….I wouldn't say a lot, but there's prob- Bill Gates: Generation X, Steve Jobs: Generation X…the richest people in the United States are Generation X. Ummm…Mark Zuckerberg….Again, if you don't like atheists, don't use Facebook because Mark Zuckerberg is an atheist. He's one of the richest young people in the world; he's a Millennial, and I would say that there's more rich people among Generation X in the Baby Boomers, and I guess Warren Buffet would be like The Lost Generation, generation before the Baby Boomers. So…there's probably more billionaires before then….uh….before now, than, uh, than there are now from this current generation. I think Elon Musk might be a millennial, uh…then again, he might be my age, I don't really know. The point is, is that the Millennials are like… overworked, and overstressed, and like stressed-out, and it's just like they're always on TV, and always for show..."
One thing is for certain; the hostility in Lucas is growing. The video with Daniel reveals Lucas as a silly coward, but the venom inside him, combined with all this salt and jealousy....I dunno; I could see him trying to hurt someone surreptitiously, if he thought he could get away with it.
