So, at some point yesterday Lucas posted one of his memes with a typical batshit caption, only in this particular meme, the text was strategically placed over a picture of a nude girl of questionable age. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with his postblock. If any other long time watchers remember, he posted some similar images of very questionable aged women and may have gotten the zucc for a little bit. Either way, this image is questionable enough that I do not feel comfortable downloading it and uploading it to another website. I would prefer not to be placed on the same list that Lucas is probably on. It's still up in SOFALAW though, so you can find it there if you're curious.

I've seen this sentiment a few times in the thread, but I'm not sure I agree. I think his chronic unemployment and homelessness has more to do with his own astonishingly lazy personality, and that he has always had EBT, mental health services, half-way homes, and various other resources to fall back on. It's not so much that he can't, it's that he never really had to try because he always had food, and if he really wanted it a warm bed, and for Lucas that's enough. He'd never be a good employee, of course, but I think in terms of competency and ability he's closer to a Russel Greer than a John Bulla.

This is fair. There have been periods where he wouldn't have been able to hold a job.
I guess I just think that if Lucas were magically cured of his schizobrains tomorrow we would see very little change or improvement. Or that if he had been born with a different disability he'd still be in much the same situation- trying to milk the system, chronically unemployed, occasionally homeless. You can be both crazy AND a lazy sack of shit, and many of his problems come from the latter and not just the former.

Nah, Lucas is utterly insane. There are lots of NEETs out there (some of them on this very forums) that need a kick in the butt and just pull themselves together. Lucas is not one of them. He'd never be able to lead a steady independent life and work somewhere. He's too mentally ill for that. Some people here find him personally infuriating, (I do too) especially when he points out how clever he is for using the system and you could make an argument for him not using the system the way it was intended to do but that's how it is, such systems are never perfect. By changing it so that just Lucas wouldn't get away with certain stuff, you'd just make it more difficult for other people. What parts the professional from the layman is to be able to work with somebody like Lucas who is really unlikeable atop of his mental illness.
If he'd be more functional if he would have gotten more intervention regarding his mental health is impossible to say without an outside narrator who knows him long enough, even though after a few months of him I don't think it would have made a lick of a difference to be honest. I certainly think he could've been better integrated into society, not to a point where he could've hold down a normal job though.
In many European countries people like him get put into sort of a disability/retirement situation where it's made sure that they have their basic needs (living space, food&clothing money, some extra money so they can 'partake in society' [i.e. buy a smartphone] as it is officially called) met no matter what happens but on top of that, there are also programs that work with them to get them into work environments that can deal with their level of disability, which is always a very individual thing with mental illness. These programs are hit and miss really, a few even end up on the normal job market after a few years of clinical depression or what-have-you, others are always in it to some degree, but it ups the general quality-of-life and makes things like mentally ill homeless a rarity in many regions.
Even with such an European thing, I don't really see Lucas on the high end of the spectrum of functionality. Maybe a part time job that's not particularly demanding regarding concentration and such. Yea, Lucas has serious mental illnesses as well is an all around scum bag. That's why he can't work, being a jerk is fixable if you are mentally sound it's not easy though. Lucas has an ego the size of his waist line. Honestly, he can't do anything. He's got no skills and frankly one of the few things we can take some pity (and breathe a collective sigh of relief) he has a serious social phobia. Being unskilled, with a record his best bet is to ask his caseworker for a program that hires mentally at risk people, there are programs for it and I've spoken on them before both in support and how they exisit.
Lucas is in piss poor shape, old, and socially can't function. So this leaves him with stocking shelves packing boxes etc. A job someone needs to do, programs like this can get you in it.. This would be great for him, income, self respect, etc. Lucas thinks he's super high IQ and looks down on most everyone. There is no way he'd take something "beneath" him.
Frankly Lucas exploits the system, he doesn't have to be on welfare, he had ONE rule with getting the cushy life of being a spazing pedo tard, was see a shrink and you can live off your family. Lucas chose to be homeless. Now you can say part of him saying homeless over meds/help is the mental illness and I'd agree but there's also part of Lucas who just wants what he wants world be damned, even that rare lucid Lucas.
Now we get into the debate of how the systems should be run and that's really not constructive or relevant, so I'll hold my rants. But we say Lucas is using/abusing it because he can do more, he doesn't have to be there and choose to be since he has no rules. It irks many people, I'm sure his family most of all who would rather spend their own hard earned money to see lucas better/safer than doing what makes him thread worthy.
Again I don't mean to say Lucas legally isn't in the right to get his tard bucks being he's a failing tard it's just disgusting he is both allowed to with his outside options and how smug he is while he skips out on things he's entitled too also with his tugboat like mental care. He's using it for just the cash and roof.

Oh man, I've done the community college route to university (my state has an agreement with universities and CC's) and let me tell you I can 100% bet he's signed up at a local CC. Mine was filled with assholes like him. I remember clear as day seeing a 40 year old man in one of my classes sporting a fedora and responding to every question wrong and making a total ass of himself. Community College is a perfect fit for this guy. Hopefully he goes through with it and we can get more great moments of Lucas in the wild

Even if by some miracle of cthulhu they manage to land Lucas in a decent job with a decent salary that can be helped along by his tugboat, you know he's gunna fuck it up. He's most likely going to mouth off about something and get canned as a result since these jobs have a waiting list longer than his telomeres. It'll be seen as Lucas not appreciating the effort put into getting him the job, and chances are that they won't help him again.

We knew he was going to a comm college before, I don't see him making it to class honestly. If he does he won't last long. I've expanded on this before so if you care just skim back a page or so. I'll spare everyone the novel length post, this time. I don't at all like the bad rap comm college gets. When I was in grad school I had a few lolcows with me so it's anywhere, a lower barrier of entry will clearly let more unfit in but also lets people getting back/just starting or aimless into education.

What is the point of sending his stupid ass to college when he has no ambition or desire to get a job? Even if he did have ambition to get a job he is not mentally competent enough to sustain it. I am going to be disappointed in my state if they send this hambeast to college for free. There are plenty of other more deserving individuals that they could be sending instead of this pindick loser.
