Imagine the levels of stupid and insane a person has to be in order to think that its a sane and normal thing to do to demand someone come down to debate you outside of a homeless shelter to argue with a literal deranged hobo
That said, its very clear why he wants to do such a thing outside the shelter and isn't, say, demanding to do it someplace like a restaurant where he could gorge himself the whole time - he wants to do things that way so he can deliberately act like an entitled twat and provoke anybody stupid enough to take him up on his 'offer' and then when he pisses them off to the point they start threatening him or making it clear its time for lucas to shut his mouth or else, he'll run inside and demand the staff help him, call the cops for him and let him pretend to be some kind of persecuted victim, so he can rant on the internet demanding gibs for it
Lucas clearly doesn't consider the fact that his little plan has a major flaw: that someone will simply walk over and drop him with a fist or a brick to the face for mouthing off at him as soon as he starts acting like a loon. Lucas doesn't understand that anyone willing to take him up on his offer - especially if they aren't actually in spokane already, is either as mental as lucas is for going along with it, or takes him up on it for the very purpose of beating the shit out of him on the spot and may not care that they get arrested afterwards, or they wouldn't have gone there in the first place. Such people likely have a bone to pick with him for one reason or another. He clearly doesn't realize just how quickly and easily someone can beat his ass if they want to, and that trying to bolt into the shelter isn't necessarily going to spare him from that if the other person is pissed off enough. Not to mention after such an incident, if lucas calls the cops its just as likely to lead to lucas getting in trouble for creating the whole situation in the first place as the other guy is for beating his ass. Not to mention its a real easy way to get him another forced psych eval given his history
The funny thing is its blatantly obvious what lucas's intent is here. He wouldn't dare say shit like that to any of the hobos in the shelter he's in, he'd have gotten his ass beaten or stabbed in an alley by now if he did
That said, what exactly is he even talking about here? What is there to 'debate?' even if someone did legitimately take him up on it without the intent to beat the shit out of him on the spot? Does he think he is going to talk his way out of his mountain of evidence of being a creep? He's right back to his weird views on how conversations work. I really think he believes there is some magic way to say things during a conversation to make things go exactly how he wants them to - either for dating, getting away with things, or convincing others that his past actions didn't happen like its some kind of fallout speech check
