I agree with you. It’s really sad honestly. Power leveling but I happen to be bi and this has one key issues why I never got involved with LGBT groups. Even when I was figuring that I actually am bi, I very much believed that most bis are just going trough phase and I should really reflect if I actually was bi or just thought being bi would be cool. I have never agreed that others shouldn’t question or doubt claims of sexuality or transitioning. I’m for medical and legal gate keeping. Overwhelming majority of people are straight and I’m fine if media reflects that. I don’t think there is much homo/bi/transphobia. And LGBT can be just a phase.

Most people when they are teenagers or early twenties do go trough phase or two about their sexuality. Whatever it’s free love, slut-shaming, really wierd porn or bi. There is tons to enjoy even if you aren’t truly into that. Making out with somebody can because you like them or you actually just like the attention from people around you. Rebellion, control, curiosity, community, standing out ect. Learning to separate all that from sexy feelings isn’t easy but for generations most people have ended up with kids, job, house, vanilla sex life and pretty happy about it. I highly doubt that this generation will any different. I don’t take young people’s sexuality, politics, fashion or other similar identities very seriously. I don’t outright dismiss them but I think it’s healthier that they can easily back down if mistakes were made. I highly recommend LGBTQ+ communities take the same stance.

Anyway, I specifically meant phases within the LGBT spectrum. Like asexuality or Kinsey scale ratings, etc. It’s not very often someone feels like they belong in LGBT and joins it only to find out they’re not any flavor of it. As I said earlier, medical and legal transition can be ungodly expensive and, in the case of medical transition, sometimes too much of a health risk. Medical and legal gatekeeping is not my cup of tea (disclaimer: nor do I ascribe to tucute-type rhetoric where you don’t have to feel dysphoria or try to rectify dysphoric feelings at all to be trans because what the fuck that’s literally the basis of being trans).

That all being said, you are absolutely right that the community needs to learn to be more forgiving with the ebb and flow that comes with people finding their real identity over time. It’s all across the board with regard to age, though. Even grown LGBT+ folks can be annoyingly catty. I hope Luna doesn’t grow up to be one of them, ugh.

She draws herself looking like a 14 year old kid and I think there's a reason for that, the same reason that there's so many SJW "age regressors", so many that are well into their 20s and never once call themselves "man" or "woman". They can't stand being adults or having any amount of responsibility. They're emotional children, and they need to be seen like children. And just like children, despite not wanting any of the responsibility that comes with it, they want to be powerful, they want control over other people. They want the power to force people to do what they command, no matter how small or stupid it is, it gives them that childish narc juice-- and her stupid pronoun game and stupid name are the perfect way to do that...it should be perfect, it's bigoted to use the wrong pronoun or deadname people now, isn't it? She should be able to force people's to do what she wants! The amount of autists on tumblr i've seen use the phrase “I can't adult today” is too high.

Literally every part of her and what she does is copied from someone else. I know she struggles with developing a sense of identity, but man.

I just can't get over how much more talented artists draw fanart of them that's like 400x better than anything they could create. I can't imagine anyone over the age of 14 being a genuine fan of them, so that really says a lot.

Also, I am a certified trans, and I can't imagine being as bratty as they are. I guess I understand the frustration at your parents misgendering you, but firstly, Luna is an interesting choice. Imagine agonizing over choosing a name for your child and then when they grow up they're like "nah, I'm changing it to the name of a MLP character". Secondly, holy shit I seriously wish my biggest issue with coming out was my parents still calling me Sarabeth when I visit home. Clearly someone whose idea of oppression is being called a mean word on tumblr once.
