"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

One more informational tidbit regarding Friday's stream... Maker's Mark is actually produced in Kentucky not Tennessee. Josh's joke about Graf being an alcoholic doesn't make any sense. I am honestly flabbergasted that Josh wouldn't know this incredibly specific piece of information off hand. Josh needs to have his jokes fact checked lol.

In the digital era, copyright violation of small creators is continuous. One of the largest perpetrators historically was channels on Facebook ripping shit from YouTube constantly, which Facebook did nothing about. Small creators cannot even take advantage of copyright effectively, but insane people can use the dmca to try and dox legitimate critical uses.

It only benefits corpos. Abolition.
Even with digital content (since copyright for physical inventions and patents is mandatory for developing new shit), you still need the protection for people to have any reason to make an effort that isn't "ugly manbeard/tits saying the same retarded opinions" like that Astartes video a while back. But modern YouTube content is the liquid juice spilling from under the barrel.

God I miss the golden age of content with sites like Newgrounds that had free games that were better than most modern indies. It's probably nowadays filled with trannies.

The fact that disney, the most ardent proponent of ever-stronger copyright law, was built entirely on the appropriation and enclosure of countless prior works, is just icing on the cake.

Patents and Trademarks are NOT copyright. They're not even handled by the same government agency. The USPTO is an office in the Department of Commerce, whereas the Copyright Office is a part of the Library of Congress.
If corpos and government endorse it I just have to assume it is not based nor redpilled and it probably, extremely gay

I can’t believe that @Null is noseguarding again. *sigh*I guess all those Balldo adverts Metokur sent to him really got the him.

Seriously, though those messages are fucking Tomlinson-esque with how deranged they are. The Discord ones are great when the person realizes that Nick is trying to manipulate her with the parasocial relationship.

Josh you have some explaining to do... when did you get a tik tok ????

In my limited experience I believe the Department of Commerce may be the closest thing to a good government agency the US has. Consumer protection is actually heckin basedarino.
Null I was wondering how you feel about Car dealerships and their salespeople. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard about shady dealers and salesman. Have you ever had to deal with a stealership?

regarding your musings on complex systems

I remember watching this dude on TLC its just re airing of a BBC series.

but it talks about the falling apart of civilization

Go to the 27 minute mark if you wanna skip the bit about the new york black out.
The observation that the Pharaoh stayed in power by monopolizing the knowledge of when floods occur is a strong introspection on modern government. The government desires a population that is more reliant on it for everything and actively demonizes homesteading and self-sufficiency.

Modern societies are fiendishly more complex then ancient Egypt too. I ways tell people to do the "light bulb" thought experiment to explain this.

Turn on a light in your room.

Now think about EVERYTHING that had to go right for that light bulb to turn on.

1. Someone made the bulb correctly.
2. Someone shipped the bulb to the store without breaking it
3. Someone put it on a shelf without breaking it.
4. Someone was there to sell it to you.
5. Someone priced it in a manner that made selling it to you profitable, so the store can exist in the first place.
6. You screw the bulb into your lamp successfully because the lamp was machined to industry specifications so the bulb could fit.
7. Someone made the lamp (repeat steps 1 through 6)
8. You flip the light switch (repeat steps 1 through 6)
9. Electrons flow down the electrical wire in house. (Repeat steps 1 through 6)
10. Those electrical wires were correctly installed in your house.

And on and on and on,

---the energy flows down the electric lines. Someone made those (repeat steps 1 through 6 again)

---someone built the power plant. Someone maintains the power plant.

And on.

You can spend an entire hour writing down every single step necessary for a light bulb to turn on. A simple mundane task we do every day and take for granted.
