It sounds like it will be open, MLS talked to the court and said he got permission to cover the Zoom hearing. The only charges right now are the drugs and the firearm possession, nothing with children.

Part of why they're bothering with the gun stuff might also be that the gun was unsecured, judging by that article. You're supposed to store guns unloaded in a safe, not loaded on the floor with loose ammo rolling around in the same room as your drugs. It's a particular issue with the drugs in mind because when it's just out and about like that someone in an altered state of consciousness can much more easily acquire it and cause problems.
