It gets even better when you remember that if the money was kept carefully in an investment account it would be literally more of a payout than social security for most people.
and even BETTER when you remember that if you have literally any kind of lifespan altering condition outside of your control like cancer, autism, being left handed, having testicles (on average I guess), than your payout is literally going to be drastically less than it should be.

Like, to put the fuckeyness of this into perspective, I'm pretty sure if men started living as long as women on average the entire system would fucking explode. Anytime you pay social security taxes it's literally throwing money into a fire. Taxes are a (shit) deflationary measure. That money you pay to the government doesn't go into a trust fund for your benefit, it gets shredded.

The government forces you at the barrel of a gun to burn 12.4% of your income BEFORE INCOME TAXES. The state makes you poorer in exchange for the "promise" that those funds will be used to support you in your old age which if you do see will be worth FAR less because of inflation than it was when you paid it (because the government refuses to recognize real inflation) and that's if you survive long enough to reach the ever rising retirement age.

At least the 10% a church asks you for presumably goes to the upkeep of the church you attend and you can often even earmark your money to go to specific purposes when you tithe.
