There is no way Madonna is going to attract a young audience now--ever. Her fans are gay men and people who grew up with her music in the 80s and 90s, and that particular Venn diagram would be almost a perfect circle. Young people don't care about Madonna. The major pop music scene, for over ten years, has been dominated by the same people over and over again; Taylor Swift, Bieber, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Jonas Brothers, Lady Gaga...and they are considered the elders of pop while new stars come and go. Madonna is just an old woman to pop music fans, sadly enough. They might understand that she was really famous a long time ago, but there is zero interest in really exploring how groundbreaking she was for her time, or in her body of work, even in a hip retro way.

No young person wants to see a senior citizen pretend to be cool and hip and horny; hell, nobody really wants to see that. It's a bit sad, as it now feels like her entire career was for naught, but that's how it is. If you base your livelihood and public presence on pop music--which is a genre for the young--and a very hard sexuality, Baby Jane Madonna is what you end up with. It's shocking in so many ways, but I guess dignity is never something she was known for.

It helps Mylene went from 80s pop star with cleavage to doing personal pop songs that look at the world outside herself. And eventually she worked with the same team that made Gaga Lady Gaga. Madonna was always just about people smelling her queefs vs being recognized as a "tortured artist soul" which is typically what makes great entertainers and why so many of them deal with mental problems despite fame/wealth. Vincent Van Gogh cut off his ear in his later years.
Van Gogh didn't receive very much attention when he was alive. He lived in poverty and often had to choose between paint and food. The heavy metals in his paints likely exacerbated his mental illness.

Also he didn't even cut off his whole ear. It was just a piece of it.

tiffainy > mondona > avril lavigne > hillary duff > that one coked up bitch
How did you manage to spell "Lavigne" correctly, but not "Madonna" or "Tiffany?"

She should have trusted sales figures: both Ray (which has the progressive cred of William Orbit) and Confessions (which coasts on disco nostalgia) are her comeback albums, vastly outselling the adjacent albums. The edgy, political American Life and the shamefully age-inappropriate MDNA were her worst bombs so far -- not counting the even more political Madame X which promises to be way worse saleswise. But I guess she's got so much money that she no longer gives a fuck.

The only reason why people liked Confessions was because of the ABBA sample for Hung Up. They could have replaced Madonna with any other pop singer and it would have done as well or better. Ray of Light was her last remotely decent album.

In the immortal words of Mike Stoklasa, if I were to meet her I'd just scream WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR FACE

She has always been an atrocious narcissist. So many other female artists have come to terms with their age with grace, like Grace Jones and the amazing Kate Bush.

Madonna is for all the world a drunken crone and slattern screaming at passers by to remember her past glory.

Annie Lennox, too. Annie's four years older than Madge, doesn't appear to have fucked with her face at all, seems to be a genuinely happy and big-hearted person, and she's just fucking radiant.

She has a monumental ego, but no fucking dignity. Bad combo, that.

Annie Lennox is a good example of how a woman can age if she takes good care of her skin. She doesn't appear to have a lot of work done, maybe some Botox here and there but hell, anyone can get that done anywhere (I've even heard of dentists offering it now.) She's moisturized often and managed to stay pale for her aesthetic, works to your advantage as you age. You aren't supposed to look smooth and flawless as you get older and reach your senior years, lines and wrinkles are normal. Madonna has dipped into the uncanny valley recently because your brain knows a woman her age shouldn't look that way.

Annie is also far, far more talented than Madge will ever even dream of being. Also despite all that talent she’s still very humble and grateful for her success, unlike Madonna, who:

has a monumental ego, but no fucking dignity. Bad combo, that.

Granny’s way too high on herself for someone who lists as one of her greatest accomplishments a coffee table book that was basically crappy porn.

Kate Bush is the greatest female musical artist of the 20th century

I don't keep up with many musicians but when I heard that after twelve years she released a new album I jumped on it. Wonder what she's been up to for all these years.... Start playing the first track, King of the mountain, 'could you see the aiflies' - oh no she's been boozing it up for all these years! Not actually, but I liked the twist.

This bitch

Weird her photoshopped body is wearing the T-shirt of a band that was at its peak at the same time she was pursuing a very different type of music career in NYC. Madonna was born only two years after Ian Curtis.

There would never be an authentic photo of a 20 year old Madonna wearing a Joy Division shirt in 1978, instead we have a 62 year old Madonna using a 20 year old’s body to wear a Joy Division t-shirt in 2021. Shit is so weird now.

The original looks like Safiya Nygaard. Madonna gets more pathetic every year, it's not even a good photoshop.

Imagine being at the doorstep of your 60s and calling someone else a Karen like the hip kids do nowadays. Embarrassing and sad!

I wonder if Madonna is ok with Sean Penns' gun being taken away?

And bullshit on her not having armed security, someone with their head so far up their ass ALWAYS has armed security, she just doesn't want to admit it.

But she's a CELEBRITY, therefore she's more important than all us peons, so she is worthy of armed security. Rules for thee, but not for me.
