What started as one sperg screaming into the Ether has slowly started to become something more, and the salt generation is only going to grow from here. When Jeremy got banned, he started a tipline (of sorts) for people to drop information on MTG community members and DCI members who were openly harassing people (as per WotC's own code of conduct).

People started to come out of the woodwork to explain to him that multiple DCI Judges working for WotC are convicted sex offenders. He's covered it multiple times on his show by now of various individuals who WotC is fucking acutely aware of having a known history yet have done nothing about.

This shit isn't going away and so long as the pressure keeps mounting, we're likely to see increasing sperg-outs. Keep your eyes open, Kiwis. Jeremy's a gigantic sperg, but he's the sort who can bring us constant content without even realizing it by driving cows fucking insane (rather similar to SidAlpha for Alex Mauer). There are a number of women who play the game, 15% to even 40% of the players being women depending on your LGS. However, they have no interest in playing tournaments and just play casual, something SJW's never mention. (Tournament's allow for "control" so that's all they care to talk about).

As of late Jeremy is acting like a SJW by saying that the Judges program is full of pedophiles and that WotC should be getting Judges to go through police checks. Not understanding that it's up to the LGS to bring in Judges to their store, not WotC.

I just watched that, and at the end he admits a lot of (all?) of them were either already in jail, or inactive. That's a huge asterisk to pop on there when the entire case is "they know kid touchers are there and won't do anything about it!", especially when it looks like both he and all his viewers are trying to make it look like the company knows, and are actively trying to cover it up.

This goes back to what I was saying before, he's taking what otherwise would be a lulzy little endeavor (fuck with the nerd company and see what happens), and spergs out to such an extent that he A-Logs and makes himself look far worse than what he says the company is doing. Literally all the company has to do at this point is say "Jeremy was an active member when he received his ban, these players were not. With Magic, they have rules for underage players as well. Anyone under the age of 14 have to have parents consent to even go to a tournament in the first place, and you're more likely to find a sexual predator playing the game than Judging it. (Here store owners are now Judges since we have far too few Judges that can be trusted with the rules and being biased towards players, those that can be trusted travel city to city). You would have to ask players to also have background checks before playing too, which would most likely kill the game faster than the SJW incursion into the hobby.

I just decided to go to another convention across the country where at least people were treated better and would have new people and things to see. It's not hard to find another hobby, and it's not like physical card games are as popular as they used to be.

Jeremy's latest endeavor naming pedophiles in the judge program is mostly directed at Channel Fireball, responsible for hosting a majority of the larger tournaments. They're big enough to mandate a police records check prior to sign-up for judges and no one would bat an eye.

As for the judge program requiring background checks, it's totally impractical. They would have to constantly update them and check who had them or not, and that's not even scratching the surface as far as WotC dishing out punishment to stores that allow judges in without a check.

TL;DR: Massive tournaments hosted by the big 2 (Starcity games and Channel Fireball) or official GPs can require background checks and should. Anything else is subjective.

I am a complete outsider to card games.. But I think that Jeremy is trying too hard to make it into a "gate".. This is ultimately a niche hobby that became a shell of itself during the past few years, and whether that is due to SJWs or not is up to interpretation.

I feel that the time has already passed to stem the tide of SJWism, and it's kinda too late now, the fanbase is far too small to sustain a political split, because unlike Vidya, this isn't a worldwide billion dollar industry, where capitalists will sway to the side that spends more money. The focus here is not on growing the brand, but on losing the least amount of potential customers as possible and controlling the bloodletting enough to keep the company going. Though I honestly don't understand why those companies would hire people who actively dislike the stuff they're selling.. It just boggles the mind.

You can say the same for the Comics industry, which has and still experiences its own "gate", but the difference here is that comics are a hot commodity in the movies business right now, which makes publishers very protective of their properties' long-term health, and makes them want to transition movie watchers into Comic readers (a kid who buys Captain America comics and toys right after watching the latest movie is the exact reason the word 'synergy' is used in business circles). Those two things are simply not there for card games that aren't tie-ins to other forms of media.
