If that date on the right column is a banning date, each pair was banned on the same date. So John Perryman got banned in Indiana, then ran very very fast to Virginia to do something to get banned the same day? Or maybe he was someone who got banned for saying something mean on twitter, and in the process of banning him they found he'd made a second account after moving and banned them both? I don't get what if any significance there is to that.

Typically if you have a DCI card it is registered to that state. Moving won't change the state, but if you lose or destroy your DCI card, you have to get a new one, again registered to that specific state. The date on the far right is when the ban is lifted. Seems like John had a minor ban (3 months is for stupid shit like chimping out at a loss) in Virginia (higher DCI number), but since he still has a DCI registered to Indiana, that gets the ban too. Vincent Ng outright tried to evade the ban, and that's why he has a lifetime ban.

TL;DR: One was clearly evading ban and got in more trouble, the other one just lost his registration card.

The claim that's been made is that basically every other card game on the planet mandates background checks on their judges. Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, etc. And hilariously Pokemon is also published by WotC, so it's not like they have zero experience with the matter. It looks like they're just choosing not to in order to cut corners and save some bucks. They were plenty quick to run to the virtue signal and ban people for being harmless spergs on twitter, 'cause that was free, but spend some money to make sure a 'local tournament' isn't taking place in a pedovan? Whoa now, let's not be hasty.

WOTC stopped publishing pokemon well over 15 years ago

Jeremy is streaming it'll probably be dumb

I watched about ten minutes and got bored, though I did hear him mention he believes a lot of his detractors are a core group of "like 30 or 40 people". He seemed to refrain from explicitly saying he believes they were sent directly from the company itself, though.

Any sit through the entire thing?

Still going on, but the general gist is that he wants to get into a new game, and pedophiles are bad. He also goes on a tangent about the VP of WOTC calling her unqualified or something. As a side note, someone asks him if he saw this thread, and he said he had no idea what KF is.

I think there's a case for moving this thread to Community watch, we're been pretty much discussing the community and its drama with little to no salt being provided.

He did mention MTG Lion (I linked his video earlier in the thread) getting some sort of "privacy warning" and mentioned that MTG Lion was overreacting because he didn't understand this warning isn't a strike. All these videos are from the past day.

SO pretty much this has just warped itself into the new "skeptic" thing, with everyone who can just making vlogs about it without really knowing or caring what the initial problem is, just that there's a crisis and they all wanna pop their faces on it while it's fresh.

Am I in the ballpark?

Yeah, except I think these people know the root issue, which is power grabs via subjective code of conduct violations as interpreted by SJWs. Similar to the NodeJS CoC Salt incident. But they're absolutely flailing with half-thought out narrative pushes with no concise message. It's all dog whistles ("we all know this is just part of the SJW culture war wink-wink nudge-nudge") and preaching to the choir.

Jeremy is flat out concern trolling with this pedophile shit, it's super clear he's just trying to make a point over the selective enforcement but that doesn't work as a narrative since it's 100% self-serving. He's desperately shilling and he stinks of it.

That "truth" video from MTG Lion has an audio record between Wedge and some other people, it seems juicy but I don't really know who any of these people are.

Most of the salt seems to be between the people who are debating on whether Jeremy is or is not a lolcow.

This is why I made the suggestion, we're basically discussing the MTG community now. There's no salt posts for the last 5 pages at least.

After having no personal experience with card games where you don't need an Indian to deal you in and a down on her luck boat show model to bring you a bourbon, I want to say the following after reading this thread and the linked addicted to get a grasp on all of it.

This is a perpetual motion machine fueled by autistic squealing.

It is, however, fucking hilarious.

Perpetual motion machine is correct, it's self-sustaining at this point. I think I'm part of the problem, I keep posting it.
Wasn't it also self-sustaining during GamerGate?

(Well, the early stages at least, eventually it generated the autistic energy equivalent of a 1,000 nuclear reactors).
