Jumpstart. Just do jumpstart. Is MTG worth getting into these days? A friend of mine is pretty into it, and I was thinking about giving it a look myself.

MTG lore is usually pretty good as long as you don't zoom in too far.I'm more of a lore guy
Blue in its purest form. All we need now is to staple a counterspell on top.Guys, check this out

They made a card that makes redditors feel smarter. Also a lot of shit got spoiled. Strixhaven commanders, some Marvel shit.

Since it targets, you can kill someone with it.Meme Card legitimately unplayable
That's...alot of mana.Since it targets, you can kill someone with it.
It's better if you have 14 or 16 mana for that usually you have infinite if you're looking for an X spell to kill someone with.Since it targets, you can kill someone with it.
Not if your second color is green. 16 mana is enough to mill anybody. 14 would likely work too. Blue sun definetly has uses, but this one would be a better way to kill without infinite mana. Also has better mana/card ratio if you want to draw yourself.That's...alot of mana.
Make Meme Card
Make it Sorcery speed.
Meme Card legitimately unplayable in anything outside Limited.
-Infinity/10
I was trying to be nice.It may not even be playable in Limited, I guess if the Sealed format is slow and grindy.
I'm usually playing a Yurlok reanimator with an Out of the Tombs, Gitrog Monster, Syr Konrad and wheels in there. Please try to deck me, it'd be great.Guys, check this out

This is possibly playable in Spiral Tide, but I doubt that deck cares about the difference between 14 and ~50 manaGuys, check this out

Dude, the only use case for that is to put enough mana to deck somebody completly. If you have to draw more cards than you have - you die at your next priority.
Look, m8, if somebody will try to deck you with this thing on field, he deserves a spot on spechial olympics. Unless he'd bojuka you in advance.
Someone in this thread recommended Jumpstart and it's super confusing because for a while every single Magic set would have Jumpstart boosters even though Jumpstart is supposed to be its' own thing. The ones that have their own set are univerally considered to be a terrible product... aside for one set where this is an exception. To make things less confusing: you want the pack to say "Jumpstart", "Jumpstart 2022" or "Foundations Jumpstart" and you should ignore all other Jumpstart products.Another question for everyone; are there any MTG sets/settings/etc. that I should try to avoid? I know the various IP crossover sets aren't worth it - ironic, given that I first learned about MTG back in 2010 with an AdventureQuest crossover they did - but are there other sets worth skipping for excessive fagginess, for example? I know already there's a lot of freakshit in MTG (it's WOTC, after all), but what should I be on the lookout for?
Just buy singles, find cards you like and play commander with them with 3 buddies.Another question for everyone; are there any MTG sets/settings/etc. that I should try to avoid? This doesn't necessarily protect you. Even supposing X=6, you need to have 64 creatures in your graveyard if it's aimed at you while you're empty-decked to survive, which is not a plausible ratio. It can save you in partial cases, where you draw 40 cards and then try to reanimate 24 more, say, but broadly it'll work as a kill-spell at 14/16 mana most of the time. Because these are replacement effects, you cannot sacrifice between the draws because you never get priority ("instead").
