Realistically, he probably has done something illegal. Even if he's non-offending, I wouldn't be surprised if he has a CP stash. Otherwise why would he be worried about a legal case when no one mentioned that? After all, pedophiles *love* to remind us that it's not a crime in itself to be one.

It's not normal for an adult to have a sexual attraction to children. A pedophile is someone who has a sexual attraction to children. It is about the attraction and not just the action of doing it. Not engaging in the activity does not change what you are. For example, if you are a woman attracted to other women, you are still a lesbian whether or not you ever have sex with another woman. You can be a celibate lesbian or a closeted one, but not having sex with women doesn't magically make you not a lesbian.
If a man has rape fantasies, he might not ever rape a woman -- but he certainly is turned on by the idea of doing it. That makes him a potential rapist and he should be treated accordingly. You can't punish people for things they haven't actually done -- but if they broadcast that they'd be interested in doing it, you should treat them as if they are a rapist, pedophile, whatever for your own personal safety or the safety of the people you love.
And if you are trying to remain a no-contact MAP, the last thing you need to do is to focus on how attracted you are to kids and to seek out material that will arouse you and keep your thoughts focused on that desire. You should avoid that stuff like the plague just as an alcoholic shouldn't be hanging around bars or looking up cocktail recipes on the internet. If you aren't avoiding it, it is either because you can't (which means you have no control) or you don't want to (which means you're only no-contact because you haven't had the opportunity yet).
I'm starting to think no-contact MAP is just another way of saying "pedophile virgin". Sometimes I think it is a shame that it is unconstitutional to arrest pedos for thought crimes. They really need to be rounded up for the good of society.

I agree. If someone was actually anti-contact or non-offending or whatever term they use, I don't see why they would feel the need to make their desire to have sexual contact with kids the focal point of their identity. Not to mention that the vast majority of them still advocate for legal changes that would effectively decriminalize child molestation and defend convicted child molesters.
