They're struggling after Destiny 2 and they need this to be a success. This isn't some 1 year turn around asset flip. Compare this to Nightreign because it's basically the same thing. Nightreign took between a quarter and a third of the time Marathon did to make. It uses basically the same amount of assets being reused. There isn't a comparison here. And that's without Nu Bungie consistently underperforming as part of their business plan. They don't have some huge DLC to announce that will draw in loads of excited players. They have mediocre content to fill in busy work and no one is getting on board for that.
Nightreign is fun as hell despite what it is in its bones, does it quite nail the Roguelike vibe? eh, but it certainly is fun when you get a combo and pop off.

I’d say it would be more fair to wait for tonight to see what numbers look like at US prime time on a weekend. But yea I fully expect a pretty good size drop off.
I dont think its going to get better.

First impressions of this game are awful and it looks like most people aren't sticking around to give it a chance.

Bungie fucked up bigly with the TTK being tied to gear progression, no one wants to get kicked in the balls 100x before the game feels decent. Character abilities are worthless before you get blue shields, you just cant weather the storm in time to activate them mid gun fight. On top of that I've played dozens of matches with randos through match making and only one has been good. Needing a decent social group to play this game isn't helping.

All of the playtesting that happened earlier that they showed the game off with was with characters with max load outs. That's what the game should of been base line, not this.

It really needed more meat on the bone. There are some great mods that push it to the place it should have been at release.
especially Elden Ring
You have shit taste roll slopper.

Coop shooters all have this problem. Either you have a team or you get preyed on by discord fags. The proximity voice option is a joke. Everyone is going to turn it off and use discord.

There's more to it than that.

Right now the majority of the people queueing for teams are either clueless and brand new or totally adverse to teamwork despite queuing into teams (there are multiple solo que options).

This is reinforced with the loot on the maps not mattering much and your guns/ammo not mattering much. There isn't much point in working together if you can constantly que into a match with a free kit that's more than capable of killing an enemy team. There is no incentive to make sure you and your friends make it out with their kit. Additionally it would seem that a lot of tasks/quests can be completed with out needing to successfully extract.

I have seen players loot team mates instead of rezzing them, lmao. They dont realize that they dont get to keep that loot and that it would better to have a friend with that shiny new gun they just found than it is slung over their back.

It sucks that the average gamer is legit goy cattle and that they have to be coerced into working together lest they be forced to skulk in the shadows looting trash they find like some kind of jew sewer rat. It is what it is.

It seems like these extraction shooters take more than a dozen hours to start hitting their stride, so I can see most people not making it through that. IDK how this and battle royale became a trend, for me sitting through loading screens and menus every time I die is pure AIDs, which you do a lot of as a new player.

I do miss the days of classic boomer shooter team death match. Maybe if this game at least had like a 10 hour campaign and a couple different game modes it would be more worthwhile.

This is literally always cope and literally never pans out as Consumer Cash Shop Product #1418™ proponents hope. This never helps. Ever.

here here
Elden Ring is absolute dogshit when compared to literally any other FromSoft game.

Your anti-rat rhetoric is noted.
This game absolutely needs to cater to solos. Just another reason it will die gloriously and drag bungie down with it.

Why the shit does literally everything have to be an extraction shooter? Can't we just get team deathmatch or kill confirmed?

extraction shooters often give quick rewards, the other match types usually force you to stay for a while in the game and with the current gaming sphere, quick rewards for a regular playsession is the accepted norm, even if the extraciton shooter match may last well over 30mins most people don't notice or care.
also these modes can be found on other games easily like COD/BF/CS2.

I think it would honestly work worse as a solo game with the way things are and it wouldnt fix problems beyond game play. They are better off Fixing the menu, reducing the TTK, improving runner abilities, fixing the ammo scarcity, and making loot worth a fuck. As much as I enjoy it, the free kit spam has got to go as well. Rook deserves a CD. In game events should encourage runners working together not immediately blasting each other. These are things that they could easily improve upon.

The game also needs a tutorial that explains stats, equipment, Factions, and rep.

Tool tips and icons need reworked.

Maybe a better match making system or something.

If they did all that I think you'd have a very solid game despite the controversial art style and the racially ambiguous cast of runners.
