Mario Bros. Set to Jump to Big Screen in Movie Deal with Universal’s Illumination - Paging Movie Bob, Paging Movie Bob...

Chris Pratt: Mario
*sigh*
I don't mind Chris Pratt, but they couldn't even keep Charles Martinet for Mario or Luigi? Least you could argue that the Mario Bros cartoons were doing their own thing and it was made before there was a distinctive, iconic "set" voice for Mario. If Nintendo's at the helm for this ('cause as far as I know, they weren't involved with the TV cartoons), they either had to have had a say in who plays who, or we're gonna be hearing some real bad Italian accents.

I dunno, it's just a weird casting choice if you ask me. Charles' cameo role might be Wario or Waluigi unless it's something else, though, so at least they were kind enough to let him have a cameo.

Jack Black as Bowser, though? He can do deep growls, right? Think he can. If he can ham up Bowser, I'm all for it.

Donkey Kong potentially having a speaking role is gonna be hella awkward. Nothing can top Richard Yearwood and Sterling Jarvis, and I dare Seth Rogen to try.

Remaining cautiously optimistic given Nintendo's involved, but it's still Illumination at the end of the day, and I can see them trying to make the Toads the movie's Minions.

The cast feels like a shit post, none of them are well cast but cast just because they are famous.

People like Chris Pratt and Jack Black can voice act, just seem miscast. Hell Kevin Michael Richardson who they have in the cast could have been a good Bowser.

But doubt a change of voice cast will make the movie good, just like how the Sonic redesign didn't make that movie good, just less shit.

Oh my LORD that's just disgusting, I have a feeling this'll worse than the Ratchet & Clank film that was released a few years ago.
