Nintendo released some animation clip is unknow if they are related to the movie
My personal, unsubstantiated theory is that Miyamoto's knee-jerk revulsion to including a plot or going "too adult" in Mario games is really his fear of creating another "1993 Mario".I wonder if they have learned from the mistakes of the ill-fated 1993 movie?
Their Dr. Seuss adaptations were dogshit. If they couldn't adapt Dr. Seuss books I doubt they could do better at making a story for a Mario movie. So, I guess this is really real, then?Illumination's movies are so mediocre or miss, and it's mainly miss. I'm not a fan of their art style either. The backgrounds and lightning can be nice, but their character designs are pretty bad, with those long, skinny limbs, and mouths that look pasted on instead of part of the rest of the character. But even if Nintendo is very strict about the character designs I have a lot of concerns about the story.
Yeah I felt generous saying "mediocre or miss", but I didn't hate the non-Minion scenes of the first Despicable Me (on TV, on a day when my boyfriend and I didn't have a lot mental energy and didn't feel like changing the channel). Unfortunately Nintendo has that deal with Universal for Nintendo World, and given that Illumination is Universal's current in-house animation studio this was absolutely part of the deal for getting that Nintendo World park section built.Their Dr. Seuss adaptations were dogshit. If they couldn't adapt Dr. Seuss books I doubt they could do better at making a story for a Mario movie.
The set design was really imaginative tbh. Even though it wasn't what people would think of when they think of Super Mario Bros., the underground seedy city was pretty neat.I think 1993 super mario bros movie was pretty kewl, but then again I was like 8 when I watched it

I just watched it again last night. I'll defend it again, it's a great 90s time capsule and I would have seen it in theater if it didn't skip over my market quickly.I think 1993 super mario bros movie was pretty kewl, but then again I was like 8 when I watched it

You can't go wrong if Samantha Mathis is in something being cute. You can even tolerate Christian Slater as a lead.I was like 6 or 7 when I watched it and while I never thought it was a great movie I still liked it pretty good.

When I saw that announcement in the Direct, I literally though, "You're just asking for people to think you're racist." I'm fully prepared for the angry mob of anti-racists ready to attack Illumination for casting the black actors as A) a subservient footstool, and B) one of the villains.TOADS A NIGGER LMAO
