No article yet as this just happened, but could be big. One of the largest bridges in the world according to Wikipedia.

That sounds so unbelievable but since this is pajeets we are talking about I can believe it. Pajeets are much like the dodo. You wonder how they have survived as long as they have as a people.
He's lying. The pajeets didn't fuck up a 2 billion dollar submarine by leaving the hatch open. They fucked up a 3 billion dollar submarine by leaving the hatch open. Very different.

Look, all I know, roight, is corporations been pushing for die-versity, roight, in every level of engineering and high level mechanical operation. Now, I’m not a ray-cist…I just don’t think them brownies ought to work those engines, thats all.
Americans shouldn't be allowed to make Norf FC memes because they don't even know what kind of accent they're trying to mimick. Can't say nowt anymore and Gary Lineker's a poofter, simple as.
I looked at the bridge once, ten years ago, when I was visiting friends in Baltimore. I'm so lucky to be alive!
I rode on the tube a couple of times, I could have been bombed!
You wonder how they have survived as long as they have as a people.
They survived by outbreeding their opponents.

Also informative. So then, why were they headed for the pillar? Doesn’t that imply they’d been drifting a while? It’s a big gap, and they seem to be on the right heading - then turn and hit. What caused the turn? Of the engines crap out and you’re heading for a huge gap you’d just go through the gap.
It depends when the engine cut out. The timeline isn't exactly clear: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Scott_Key_Bridge_collapse

Dali left the Port of Baltimore at 00:44 EDT on March 26, 2024,[19] bound for Colombo, Sri Lanka.[20] Shortly afterwards, the crew notified the Maryland Department of Transportation that they had lost control of the vessel and an allision with the bridge was possible, citing a loss of propulsion.[1] A mayday was issued and traffic was stopped from crossing the bridge.[4][21][22] The ship's lights were seen to go out and then come on again some moments later, and smoke was also seen coming from Dali's funnel.[8] The ship also dropped its anchors as part of emergency procedures.[23] At 01:27,[24] the ship struck a support column of the bridge at a speed of 8 knots (15 km/h).[11] The bridge strike and partial collapse were recorded on video.[25] AIS data shows the ship traveling at a speed of 8.7 knots (16.1 km/h) at 01:25 before departing the channel and slowing to 6.8 knots (12.6 km/h) by time of the allision two minutes later.[original research?]

If they were still adjusting course while coming out of the harbor when the engine cut out, it would make sense that they were just heading in the general direction of the bridge. Those cargo ships have an insane amount of inertia, it's just going to keep going in whatever direction it was travelling.

They threw out the anchors which will grab randomly and affect the course but not stop the zillion ton mass. They also maxed out the engines just after the lights came back on, probably in reverse. That will also affect the direction in ways you might not want.
Plus presumably all kinds of rudder movement.

Did all this cause it to crash rather than drift through the opening.. we’ll find out but my guess is yes, but hard to blame the poor bastard at the helm.

Barring freak, unpredictable equipment failure, there will be a paper trail of poor maintenance, deferred repairs, etc
In maintenance, there's a colloquialism called 'Pengineering; (as in, engineering with a pen). For those who don't know, it means signing off work that you haven't done, but know it doesn't need doing.

For example, if every cooking book started with how to check the health of your oven, you'd do it once or twice, then just never again because you know it'll be fine and if it wasn't you would know.

Anyway, there is a group of pengineers who know that they don't need to inspect equipment because if it breaks, there's no proof that a lack of maintenance caused the issue. These examples are rife on cars and planes and I would imagine boats as well.

An often pengineered item on an aircraft is the tyres because if they go pop, there's zero proof that they weren't the correct pressure.

Tl;DR - In Maintenance, the paperwork is 99% of the time correct, but it doesn't reflect if they job has been done or not.

If you are a mile out and you drift 7 degrees you will drift 600 feet.

Reactions: lol cow supreme
There's a bold statement, friendo.
I'll stand by it. They can't figure out there's no such thing as toilet witches waiting to steal their souls if they use proper toilets either. They'd rather shit on the streets and beaches. They also have a fun scam where one Indian will show up to interview and then another will show up the first day, because they think people won't notice.

Imagine a race that takes the worst aspects of Africans, Chinamen, and Jews, combines them, and manages to outdo them only at how much they suck at those things. That's India. Hate the Bongs for letting them run themselves.

We can't blame people for making up some "conspiracy theories" about this accident because it's been about 12 hours and information is still shady and scarce. Also, because media lies all the time, even if they release all info, nobody's ever gonna believe them. Look at what happened with the whole Kate affair: people wanted info they weren't entitled to and when they finally release the truth, nobody wants to accept it.

This is not our fault, we aren't the ones lying about everything.

Excuse me, but it is MY schizophrenia and I will choose my fringe conspiracy theory.

Sadly there are a billion of these people and they breed like wild rabbits. They will sadly probably inherit this Earth out of all the ethnicities in the world. I imagine Idiocracy but with more shit on the streets.
