EA gave Dead Space 3 extremely unrealistic sale expectations WHILE demanding changes into the series that went against what the previous two did. SURPRISINGLY that resulted in lesser sales. They boycotted Visceral even if unintentionally.

Who could have possibly forseen that increasing the enemy count and adding co-op would reduce the horror aspects, and having swarms of melee enemies in a game wheree you can't move and shoot at the same time would be no fun to play.........

I'm pretty sure the "new" Mass Effect will be riddled with microtransactions and vital storyparts cut out of the original release to be sold later on as DLC.
Not that I would give a flying fuck about nowadays Bioware tbh. Mass Effect will be a shitshow of epic proportion maybe just topped by the next release of Dragon Age.
They don't have the talent for good games anymore, all they have left are woke retards.
But one thing is sure, if either Mass Effect or the new Dragon Age don't sell then this will be it for Bioware. After Andromeda it's just waiting for the inevitable at this point, IMHO.

Why are you talking about Resident Evil 5 in the ME thread?

to be fair, by the third game it's hardy spooky anymore. even 2 was more horror than spoop. story itself was fine for the most part, as much as you can make out of "people are retarded and marker is fucking shit up again". personally enjoyed the derelict fleet parts more than 2 for the spoop and mystery.
coop also was done far better than anyone knows since hardly anyone played it.

also fuck EA, where's the remaster with a not jank pc port? there's a horde of console tards who would pay good money for it, since that's what they're really after anyway.

I MIGHT be willing to give a true ME4 a go.

However the current state of Bioware is an utter shitshow and my expectations are at an all time low after they abandoned both Andromeda and Anthem. It really feels like they are only considering doing this as a last ditch effort to stay alive and not have EA finally kill them off. (CDPR is kinda in the same boat, I'm expecting Witcher 4 sooner rather than later.)

The good:
Bringing back Liara makes sense. I'm assuming they are making her the canonical love interest and it works. I'm expecting her to be older and much less naive after all the melding/sex with Shepherd. Good chance she is the main character and the background narrative of the game is a search for Shepard.

Based upon the debris and N7 wreckage it looks like the "perfect/best" ending is canon. In addition to being the best overall ending, it's the only one that allows a sequel to be done. The other 2 are franchise ending shitshows.

Legendary edition is a good first step to winning fan good will back and getting the trilogy back out there in the minds of the public.

The bad:
All the capable writers have long since left Bioware. Everyone left is twitter level fanfic writers or has lolcowed out.

The social justice in Andromeda got nauseating. You never once feel like you earned respect from the crew. It's like they went out of the way to remove basic social interactions for fear of being labeled toxic.

Who you could romance/fuck quickly became such a core element that the actual story and setting suffered in Andromeda. Having a romance quest is all well and good but don't let it detract from the actual game because you are too focused on giving a bazillion options. I can almost guarantee you one of the main selling points of the game will be you can romance your entire squad. (I'll love to see the mental gymnastics if Liara is indeed the main character and she's sleeping around while trying to find Shepard.)

Summed it up pretty nicely.

Polititards have this weird obsession with sex and fictional characters. Everything they do, that has to be come the focus quickly.

I have no problem with that being an element they put their attention on in a role-playing game, but can some actual adults without Twitter porn for a brain handle it?

I can only imagine what kind of sick shit they have planned for this go round.

Also, I second being exhausted of Liara. Imagine all those other interesting characters from the original trilogy, and you pick Alien NyQuil on legs.

they all are because in all endings the gates blow up, as much as they tried to retcon it after people pointed out how fucking retarded it was. galaxy's fucked for a long while, and what's the big bad supposed to be now? the galactic patriarchy?

anthem had no romance or sex, but then it wasn't an rpg. all you were left with were "classic" nu-bioware writing and a lot of lowkey racist pandering (like a gay austrian fashion designer and asians either being cunts or autists - but hey, they're quirky!).

Dont expect anything from Nu bioware.

Either make it yourself or stop playing western faggotry indoctrination.
(Mass effect 3 was warning us about Nu bioware and these faggots all the way back in 2012. Jack was a cunt but she didn't try to push her beliefs onto anyone and wasnt the stereotypical butch dyke for the sake of it as a ex-biotic test subject.)

From the stereotypical hooded cunt trope in that trailer, Liara is probably going to try to tell the audience to rationalize letting their SO cuck them 6 ways from sunday while they are with them and how its your fault for not wanting to put up with it in the first place with any ounce of self respect you have. As well as every character acting as out of character as possible "because fuck you."

TL;DR : not-Liara will be used to push mediocre Faggot shit like most western media post 2010. Dont waste your time. If you must, replay 2 and 3 for the best gameplay in the series. 3's MP is very fun without any of the constant "weapon balance" bullshit of the later 2010's that most devs fuck up on purpose these days and still has a cult following that almost exclusively plays gold difficulty matches.

Would love a game set between ME1 and ME2 starring Archangel on his one-Turian quest to clean up the galaxy, one dead scumbag at a time.
That would be awesome. Turians in general are one of the more interesting species, yet they’re obsessed with Asari.

I forgot about Anthem. I didn’t bother touching it. Gay Austrian fashion designer:lit:? Well that’s just what every gamer is looking for in our space RPGs. BioWare finally getting the big picture.

Only if the opening involves ejecting Casey Hudson's blueberry waifu into a sun. The only characters less interesting than the Naive puppydog/Mary Sue were Kaiden and Jacob. Also, why the fuck would you have to search for Shepard? They were in orbit of Earth. This shouldn't be hard, even for Liara.

Does it replace the terrible shit that was building up in ME2, completely rewrite ME3 and replace the endings with something that isn't fucking terrible? I mean, I can download better skin packs for free, what's my motivation to pay real money? I know most Mass Effect fans are fucking retarded, but Legendary edition is just a cash grab that strips out the only good part of ME3, the multiplayer, just so I can have Star Child spout retarded drivel at me in 4K. Looking forward to paying real money so I can replay a polished turd.

Hey, its thanks to them and Garrus specifically we know "quad" isn't just a metaphorical term among the Krogan. 10,000 credits per testicle transplant, 40,000 for a full set.

God, I wish we could have looted and sold those off on the black market in ME1. Spectre gear is pricey, but so, so worth it.

Random genital talk aside, Garrus was pretty much Dirty Harry while he was part of C-Sec, and given that the Turians are all about propriety it could start off with him coming back to C-Sec only for a dramatic "Well then, I fucking quit!" moment to soon happen.

ironically once fixed anthem's gameplay was pretty damn good, but I've sperged about that already elsewhere. andromeda apparently wasn't too bad either, but never played that one.

everything else you could smell the nu-bioware writing from a mile away - it wasn't completely bad, but if felt like half the population was gay, with different shades of brown (which is ok considering it's some random ass planet and that's how things would evolve), but then you got characters who still speak with a heavy irish accent (wat), some quirky autistic asian, random quest npc that sounds like brüno complete with being a fashion designer and gay and other eye-rolling stuff I already repressed. it wasn't all bad, some small npc's I found a bit annoying at first were all right in the end, but man... also quips and dialogs that tried so hard to be MCU it gave me whiplash.

all in all a shame; apparently lot of the writers have already been canned and moved to shit up destiny (more than it already is) and other games, but this is still bioware we're talking about, so I wouldn't expect any improvement.

Honestly the gunplay in Andromeda was pretty sweet. Shame the rest of the game was so bad, but what can you do?

(Similar story with CP2077, damage sponge enemies aside.)

I liked the gunplay, but I didn't like the ability to switch out classes and powers in real time (or the ability to switch in general). It allowed players to make class/power combinations that made the combat completely trivial. It also took away from replays of the game... Well, so did the story, most of the characters, janky animations, horrible cutscenes, and boring missions.

Andromeda had a lot of interesting ideas, but it had the worst execution imaginable.

What made the Miranda ass controversy funny was that game journos revealed so much of themselves. She isn't that well written of a character is unintentionally dislakable but Yvonne Strahovski did a great job acting/motion capturing the role. Her sidequest in ME2 had problems but honestly it's probably one of the more memorable ones for me (no not just cause dat ass) in terms of concept. I barely remember some of the quests, like the Samara snoozefest. Great delivery on some lines like "I'm gonna miss you". If you think all she is is a literal ass kinda shows how much you disrespect the character and the writing when the series was good. Okay, will go enjoy ass shots now thanks for reading.

I always found the mirandas ass thing interesting in that it revealed what gaming Femminism is sex negative which coversly doesnt represent most womens views but does represent someones......
