I'd rather deal with a kiosk than with a moron, also it prints out something so when the order is wrong, I can Karen out and point to something on paper someone was too dumb to read, where I said double cheeseburger and your dumb bitch ass gave me a fucking chicken sandwich.tbh I like the kiosks because I can fuck around with all the different weird options for a few minutes and not feel bad about wasting the clerk's time while I go "hrm... wait... what about extra pickles AND extra onions..."
I know if I use the kiosk my order will be correct. But I also feel it's so impersonal. Something is lost in the name of efficiency. There's a couple specific smells that have been ingrained in my memory since childhood and one of them is the smell of a McDonald's restaurant in the 90s. They all smelled the same up until the mid 2000s, and I stopped going into the restaurants as I got older, but the last couple of times I've been inside a McDonald's they've smelled like nothing in particular or like cleaning products. That smell was so distinct and it wasn't quite the smell of food that it makes me think there was a scent they pumped in or something.McDonalds....
sigh
I want to continue loving it, but for me it's somewhere back in the 2000s.
Not only do I swear that it tasted better in the 90s and 2000s, but even the smell was better.
Every time I want to have McDonalds, I walk in and I'm struck by that rancid oily smell. There's definitely been a change to their quality.
I just can't do it anymore.
What is McDonald's in China like? Do you have an entirely different menu or just localised Chinese burgers?Fries dripped in this are really good too.
Absolutely delicious, but I've only ever had it in the Cameron Highlands, on the double chicken burger. Do they have it in the US?hot mustard
According to their webpage they have more options, no Quarter Pounder or its cousins, no "McCrispy", but they do have Spicy Chicken Burger (check out that breading), Teriyaki Chicken Burger (served on a long bun),What is McDonald's in China like? Hot mustard has been a McNugget sauce since day one. If you get honey mustard instead of hot mustard, wagie screwed up. Make sure it's hot mustard.Absolutely delicious, but I've only ever had it in the Cameron Highlands, on the double chicken burger. Do they have it in the US?
For me, it's the McChicken. The best fast food sandwich.I don't know why, but I fucking love Junior Chickens, they're cheap and they taste good. Should I spice things up? What should I order next time?
To quote a lolcow Chongqing resident who has a thread here: "Very good, very swag. I like it."What is McDonald's in China like? Do you have an entirely different menu or just localised Chinese burgers?
Oh, I thought you were an actual chink-now I'm disappointedTo quote a lolcow Chongqing resident who has a thread here: "Very good, very swag. I like it."
It's definitely super popular. I don't know what it's like in today's day and age, unfortunately. Just what I can see online.
I think in the past it had a lot of rice and vegetables, because that's seen as making a good meal.
Who knows though, since businesses impersonating successful chains used to be a bigger issue.
I have heard that some Chinese chefs in the US have tried the new spicy sweet Minecraft nugget sauce and they say it's the real deal, like shockingly good and with real Chinese flavors.
They do. It was one of the original sauces that came out with the nuggets in the 80s. I will be very sad the day it is forgotten and left behind over here...Absolutely delicious, but I've only ever had it in the Cameron Highlands, on the double chicken burger. Do they have it in the US?
Maybe in the past when McDonalds/fast food was staffed by a different demographic there might be something to it, but since most fast food places now are staffed by jeets and middle aged immigrants, the less I have to deal with them the better.I know if I use the kiosk my order will be correct. I hate Big Mac's - for a fast food franchise' staple burger, they're so poorly designed (presumably to hide the fact that they're more bread than burger). The burger always falls apart 2 bites in/just leaves a small patty covered in thousand isle dressing.I ordered another Big Mac today. Once again, taking the first bite caused the lettuce, sauce, middle bun, and secondary patty to evacuate from the opposite end of the burger. This left me trying to realign the whole thing by stuffing the contents back toward the center, using the raised section of the container as a wedge.
Also, similar to my previous experience, by the time I reached the halfway mark of the burger, I somehow had less than a quarter of the bottom bun left. The tiny piece of bread served as a thin shield, just enough to keep my thumb from touching the greasy hamburger patty.
The fries were fine this time around. I'm not sure if it's just this particular McDonald's, but they’ve replaced the red cartons used for medium and large orders with white paper bags, similar to the ones usually given with a small order. The white bag was labeled 'LARGE FRIES', but I'm pretty sure it held fewer fries than the old-style carton.
My local McDonalds has zero pajeets. 10/10.
