I have a set but I've never assembled a keyboard
I'm considering building my keyboard now. I've been using a cheap logitech K845 with brown switches i got on walmart clearance

i need a 100% keyboard and switches. i do not care about lights. must be wired. i think brown works for me. cerakeys are 3x heavier than plastic keys and need a minimum actuation force of 46g but they suggest higher.

i kind of want a nice asmry typing sound because my typing is picked up and people like how fast i type. it shouldn't be annoying, i know the red(?) switches are infamously loud as fuck. i do like a nice tactile feel tho.

You can’t get more tactile than buckling spring.

Hey guys, my cast-iron keyboard backplate isn't heavy enough anymore but I can't afford to upgrade to a solid iridium model. Are there any good manufacturers that make heavy plates out of denser metals? Does anyone do tungsten or depleted uranium?

Agreed. I got a unicomp new model m and now I can larp as an 80s typist.
Unicomps are probably loud enough to aggravate viewers in a streaming setting. I used one at work for a while until it became clear that the noise was bad enough to disrupt nearby phone conversations.

I have a Logitech with their clicky GL switches that is delightful to type with, but I don't think you can get a model using those keys that does not come with the silly RGB lightshow.

Logitech Mx Mech uses Kailh Choc switches, which I think are pretty decent. They’re no buckling springs, but the clicky option has good tactility and not an excessively loud click, so I reckon you can stream with it.

I have an AULA F99. It's godly out of the box, no need to make any changes, but it's nice that I could if I wanted or needed to. I've had bouncing issues with Keychron and Aula ships with an anti-bouncing feature that you can customize, it's really nice.

i have a switch picked but I'm having trouble finding a nice 100% keyboard that's actually in stock. preferably one that's already assembled so I can just plug in my switches and caps.

The Keychron Q6 Max barebones option (all you need to do is just put your switches and caps on and you're good to go, lighting is also optional to configure and you can switch it off with fn+q) appears to be in stock from what I can see for the US vendor. Got one recently for work with my ceramics, it sounds and feels fantastic to type on. Heavy base, and a nice deep sound to it:

Whoa, their launcher has Linux support?

Yeah as long as the browser you're using has chromium it'll work really well, but with a bit of configuring you can get around that as well, even without having chromium as a package on a linux system. I configured my lighting on my work laptop which is on windows, then just re-plugged it into my desktop and have a KVM switch to swap it between that and my laptop. Both are on arch (btw) and there's literally no issues with it that I've run into with both my keyboards, as I've got their Q6 Pro board for my personal desktop alongside the Q6 Max for work

Can't edit my post and I'm a retarded nigger, however I neglected to mention the Q6 Max is also wired:

The Q6 Max already has acoustic foam in the back, you only need to do that mod for the base Q6.

In that case, once I have some money to burn, might look at getting one.
