i fount a cool photograph:
a girl and her tiger. 1860s india..jpg

A woman poses with the tiger she shot. India, circa 1860s.

The gun she has is a smooth bore SxS fired with ball. until the nitro revolution in the 1890s, the best way to stop a dangerous animal was a large bore gun firing very heavy projectiles (often round balls). Most were not rifled because they were intended for use at close range, and rifled 12, 10, 8 and 4 gauge guns recoil was fierce. These guns were similar to shotguns but were built heavier with thicker barrels and stronger stocks and actions.

This type of gun eventually evolved into the "Shot & Ball" guns. A heavy smoothbore with rifled chokes. Westley-Richards boasted that when fired with their ammuniton, their shot & ball guns were capable of hitting game out to 300 yards.

Their "capped" bullets for their shot & ball guns were perhaps the first ballistic-tip expanding ammuniton to be mass produced.

So the only thing wrong with Gen 5 is the plastic denial tab right? Not a glock person but I've always kinda dug the longslide 17 so I might take the plunge.

e: the plunge on both a 40 MOS and 17 L MOS...

Does anyone know what Glock is doing to nigger-proof the 34 models that have been discontinued? I feel like it's going to take a long time to get them back on the market if Glock is going to make major changes to their machining and tooling process.

From my understanding the 34 is permanently discontinued. Lot of guys like Ben Stoeger claim the G47 shoots even flatter and with optics the longer sight radius is kind of redundant.

As for the Gen V the rumor mill is barely anything is going to be backwards compatible besides the barrel and magazine. It's clearly intended to be a stop gag measure until the Gen 6 comes out next year.

I personally don't care - I'd rather Glock decide to try and nigger proof their models then the govt step in like how open bolt firearms are essentially illegal now.

Wow permanently discontinued... I agree what you're saying about government overreach but damn my heart hurts right now. Thanks for nothings niggers and faggot communist law makers.

The G34 was discontinued before this just like the G49. Glock culled a lot of models because they decided their catalog was too big. Same with the .357SIG and .45GAP models.

Absolutely nothing, I assume. What could they even do to guns that have already left the factory?

If they're ready ro deliver to retailers in December, any changes have already been made, or are ready to hot swap the second the last gen 5 leaves the production floor.

I'm wondering if the Vs will have magazine disconnects to get on the California roster, or if they get grandfathered somehow, or if Glocks are just DOA for California from December on out (until existing stock runs dry). Apparently "new" guns can still get on the roster without the required features if they're revisions of models already on the list, I just don't get how they draw the line (especially since I've heard shit like FDE versions of approved models not getting on the roster because "it's technically a different model").

They're gonna push me to snag a G20 this year instead of a 357 revolver that I had planned to get first.

I would prefer them to tell the .gov to get fucked, and then stop selling and supporting Glocks to law enforcement in states that ban them, like what Barrett did. Except with Glock it will have actual teeth, because of all the agencies who use them.

If that means they have to go back to the shake awake P320's from Sig, too fucking bad, Californian cops are usually the bad guys anyways.

If you want a 34 just get a 17 and an aftermarket or used slide.

Now, a 17L, that'll be a little harder to come by.

Besides maybe FBI's HRT LEO have absolutely no use for .50 cal sniper rifles. Barrett's blockade of California LEO agencies was performative. Glock is an Austrian handgun company that lives and breaths govt contracts. LAPD is running FN 509 and CHP is running M&P's already. If you don't like them providing Glocks to California you're gonna hate their overseas contracts. No gun company worth mentioning doesn't supply for governments that aren't gun grabbers.

Deep Six chassis arrived today. I had to go buy a pistol grip without a beaver tail and went with a MagPul MIAD. I'm really liking how it's all coming together. It feels lighter than the SB Tactical polymer chassis the F22 came with. I've got a Strike Industries MPX/MCX style telescoping/collapsing brace coming for it, and hopefully the Deep Six is narrow enough for it to fully collapse. Next will be an upgraded barrel, then after that I'll be getting the chassis Cerakoted.

Glock put out an email in response to their shitfest being leaked early

Not ideal!
The most interesting part of this is the lack of a MOS 9mm on launch(besides the exclusive 19X). Makes me wonder if they will release a new version of MOS or a (widely distributed) factory optics cut model in 9mm.
Well, that confirms that Glock is fucking over its customers because the government refuses to deal with niggers illegally modifying their illegally obtained handgun so that they can illegally kill people. Why even bother coming out with a "response" when it effectively just confirms all of the rumors? Also "externally these pistols remain the same trusted look and performance that you trust" doesn't inspire confidence... it's not the look of Glocks that made them popular. They're ugly as fuck guns. It's the interior performance that made them popular. What are you fucking up with the internal performance to appease anti gun, brown loving cunts that hate all of us? That's the important part that we need to know.
Glock INC is a friend of law enforcement. PDs and Attorney Generals are freaking out about switches, so Glock sends letters of support and changes their product line to appease their friends. Thats as or more important than lawsuits, the California ban was the final cost-benefit push to retool production and screw over retail buyers.
Never got the point of a scar. Broke optics and putting a suppressor on one voided the warranty.
Mostly a look or "vibe" thing for most people. Especially now that tactical AR10 derivatives are common on the civilian market. The tacticool crowd (the SCAR audience) would rather buy a LMT or HK than drop upwards of $1k on aftermarket 17S upgrades to bring it in line with capabilities those have ootb. Not that I think civilian sales the main driver of FN's decision making, if the MKIII or MRGG rumors are true the SCAR is a legacy product occupying manufacturing space at least far as the US market is concerned.

Lenny from GlockStore reported the MOS versions will come later, I'm wondering if they'll be rebooting the COA setup alongside it.
