The only gun I've had from Century Arms that they (allegedly) made and never had trouble with was the VZ 2008.
I think they built those from parts kits, so more like assembled. Only issue I think those have is triggers going dead randomly, but that's something all semi-auto VZ-58's have except for the ones from Czechpoint which have a tabbed carrier.

ever since CAI got into assembling, it's almost always been hit or miss, with an awful lot of misses. they should stick to importing and doing basic bitch assembly/packaging and not actually make anything.

at least they aren't Hesse/Vulcan levels of bad.

You're leaving out all their bullshit going back to like the 90s.
Like the infamous MISR 90's, where they had the brilliant idea to build AK's by combining Chinese MAK 90 and Egyptian Maadi/MISR parts kits to form new rifles...even though those two rifles were made to completely different specs and dimensions.

Which I believe they repeated with their L1A1 Sporters, where they thought they could get away with combining Brazilian IMBEL FAL receivers with British L1 SLR parts kits...even though the IMBEL's were metric pattern and the SLR's were inch pattern, which again are incompatible with one another.

They also had the brilliant idea of assembling 5.45 Tantal kits using 5.56 AR barrels.

I think what made the VZ 2008's different is that the receivers were actually made by another company and they just put them together. I never had the dead trigger issue with my VZ when I had it.

I've passed on CAI-assembled rifles not because they didn't work, but because the only two CAI-assembled rifles I've bought worked perfectly. If I was that lucky twice in a row, no way would it happen again; I don't play with Russian-Roulette odds.

But in any case, those two aberrations were an M1 Garand and CETME "Sporter". The M1 was very well built with a decent cast receiver & new-old-stock parts for the rest, while the CETME was welded by a sober Century employee who didn't lie for their employment interview... though not that I think they ever did welding tests for prospective hires.

My wasr-10 has been flawless and I'm terrified of spinning the wheel again.

I don’t know why, but I really fucking love the look of lever action rifles and revolvers. It’s like old clocks, they just look so cool.
As the resident revolver guy I get you. Is there better shit? Yea. But my J frame is small, nicely blued, and will still dump a hot 158 grain FBI load into your ass. The big irons are just that bur better.

Think I'm done buying new guns for a while, pretty much started selling anything I don't see myself shooting.

Do wanna try out ICORE competitions. I do steel challenge and a guy I work with does some more stuff, said he'd lend me his 617, holster, and speed loaders to give it a shot. I'd use my S&W 63 if I kept doing it but wanna check it out before getting a full rig.

Costs more but I think for AK's you're just better off buying a parts kits build from a reputable builder. I had an East German build from Atlantic for a while that was pretty good. Favorite AK's though are the Chi-com ones, really great triggers on em.

That's because the Romanians at Cuigr do all the hard work and CAI just slaps on the CHEAPEST wood possible and engraves an import identifier.
That's not true. CAI used to be responsible for opening the magazine wells and other stuff. These started as single stack magazine rifles and most of the issues came from that.

The GP-10s used to come with surplus wood, cleaning kit, oiler, sling, cleaning rod, and two magazines. I think they went to including a single Pmag in 2016ish, I'm not exactly sure. I know they stopped adding cleaning rods years ago.

Nothing about combloc AKs are cheap anymore. Even a barrelless Romanian parts kit is almost $1000 now.

I'm not in the market for any AKs anymore, not unless I stumble upon something rare for a crazy deal. I'm just sharing my knowledge because I'm an AK sperg, I've had a lot more over the years than Romanian turds and Zastava.

I don’t know much about body armor but iirc .44 magnum is just about the limit of what standard police body armor can stop, and I bet that still hurt like a SoB and the cop now has a bruise the size of Texas, I’m surprised he was able to quickly return fire.

Also can’t wait for the dashcam to come out, from the one image provided it seems it will have a clear angle:

Just goes to show "muh stopping power" is bullshit.

That being said, I fuckin felt that shit while reading the article. Ugh. Glad he's ok

I have to say, it’s bizarre how many people seem to take the Deagle man’s side in this situation, it seems to be a particularly retarded sort of libertarian who thinks that DUI charges violate the NAP or some shit. In the comments of the article people were saying that DUI charges are just a “money making scheme” yeah idc about the state making money off of retards, it’s more the fact that said money goes towards teaching school kids about buttsex and trying to get them to mutilate their genitals that I object to.

Also, Deagle man was a sex pest and a repeat felon, not exactly some angel who dindu muffin.

It's at the limits of soft armor, yes; but most guys have plates now, except for deep undercover & private security.

No wonder he had such an attitude problem; that thing is bigger than he was, so carrying a deagle would be like a constant reminder of how he's cucking himself.

As armor keeps improving, it seems like things are going to keep getting smaller & faster; I knew there's was a reason I keep coming back to 7.62x25 & 7.5 Brno. But there will always be "no replacement for displacement" types & sawed-off manlets who will always argue otherwise.

At least where I am, we don't carry those plates all the time. There's space in the carrier for running them but most people still just wear softs for comfort and carry a secondary plate carrier that has to fit over the soft armor.

that's what i used to do too. soft armor under the uniform blouse, and if shit gets real, a plate carrier in the trunk i can slip on, on top that has the various tactical shit on it. swat guys had a similar setup but had rifle pouches, et c on the vest, whereas typical patrol guys would have a pouch with buckshot or a couple spare pistol mags. increasingly the shells were swapped for a three single mag pouches for AR-15s as patrol rifles started getting more common.

Maybe but the VAST majority of people never have and never wear any Type of body armor.

Most PDs give their officers soft level 3A vests and some really fancy soft vests are only marginally thicker than a sweater yet still stop most handgun rounds and buckshot.

So, Century Arms has brought back the 5.56 WASR-3 for the first time in about a decade. Unfortunately, it appears to have that Century Arms "quality."

Holy shit it's more expensive than a PSAK-101 clone with a folding stock and possibly an FN barrel. Give me the PKAK-101 in plum please
It's always stood out to me that I have literally never seen an Indian who owned a gun in my life. I see plenty of whites, blacks, hispanics, and asians at the ranges I go to who own and shoot their own guns at the very least, even if most of them probably don't vote pro 2A. But I've never seen an Indian show up to a range with his own gun. At the most, a pack of H1Bs will head bobble their way into the range, rent a gun or two, and take turns taking photos of each other shooting it. Meanwhile the current administration is loosening restrictions for more visas from India and there's so many coming in that anti caste discrimination laws are beginning to be a thing in cities.
They do if they own/work at a gas station. Or if they're born here they do. A decent % who naturalize will also become gun owners (almost always men). Remember, India has a massive amount of cultural and legal influence from the UK so many laws over there are insanely anti weapon.

I have never thought about that lol.

And there are pajeets out where I live.

I have seen arabs time to time.

But yeah, no pajeets.
I see them on occasion at my usual places. Also a good amount of Asians (usually in tactical gear and SCARS or Gucci ARs to think of it)
