Kel Tec being in Florida explains a lot
Oh no, it explains literally EVERYTHING. They even made a bullpup rifle without a pistol grip.

God knows how much cocaine they had to snort to come up with something like this.

@Duke Nukem go to Silencer Shop's website and look for a local dealer that they've partnered with who will have one of their kisoks in their shop. You can either order through Silencer Shop and have it shipped to that local shop, or if what you want is out of stock you can backorder what you want from Silencer Shop at your local shop. Use the kiosk to e-file as an individual Form 4. The wait time will be drastically shorter, a few days to maybe a month. All of my paperwork came back good today and I e-signed the last little bit today. All I'm waiting on is the ATF to approve everything and email me my tax stamp, which may be as soon as tomorrow. The drastically shorter wait times for an e-filed individual Form 4 is the reason I finally decided to get into suppressors.
Interesting info, I'm a little bit apprehensive about paying $200 to give my personal information to the feds for anything but it sounds like you have a good handle on things. Plus there's the possibility of myself relocating in the next few years so eh.
Any groin armor that is available is soft armor, meaning IIIA max, meaning that it will not stop any rifle round.
I've seen the additional pieces of armor out there, I mean I'm sure it's fun to LARP as a Juggernaut from Call of Duty or something but it gets heavy and impractical as you add stuff on. If you want armor I'd recommend a jumpable plate carrier not unlike the Crye Precision JPC 2.0 or something in a similar design. Keeping things relatively light and simple is best IMO. No need to put Magpul or Zenitco everything on your AR or AK or whatever you choose.

Also be aware that whatever you choose you have additional costs from logistics such as magazines and ammunition, not to mention cleaning kits and solutions for the post-shoot times.
Fatrick keeping the 16" barrel in his PS90 will always be the gayest thing about him.
It's an interesting weapon but it's overpriced and uses a novel round. Might as well get an AK in 5.45 at this point.
People greatly overestimate just how much coverage armor gives them. In most cases it's just a small 10"x12" plate which doesn't cover much if you're over 6 feet tall.

The one time I'm unironically jealous of manlets... it's much easier for short people to find a hole to crawl into or get closer to the ground when things start flying your way.
It's not much and honestly a lot of guys could stand to lose a couple of pounds before they consider armor. Regardless of your opinion on body armor of any type, the solid plates aren't exactly designed to fit the beer bellied amongst us.

Personally I think keeping things relatively lightweight and minimalist if possible is best for someone who doesn't do this sort of thing for a living. Might be difficult finding something that fits you properly if you're on the taller and heavier side. But yeah no more McDonald's will probably help.

It will be good motivation to shed some weight once they see themselves in the mirror looking pretty ridiculous with ill-fitting armor.

Too bad 11x16 plates and carriers aren't really a thing. Need some more options for taller individuals.

Are shotguns obsolete for home defense? From what I've read here and elsewhere, ARs seem to be superior to them in almost every way. The only thing that shotguns seem to have over ARs is the ability to deliver multiply hits on target with just one trigger squeeze.
Uhh no? I have hunting shotguns that wouldn't be great for clearing a house with long barrels and chokes meant for bird or buck shot, but I still keep one with Winchester PDX slugs as an option. I have ran off a young doctor at my door by racking my slide on my Remington 870.

that one in particular is from gun-broker, but there is a guy in my state that owns 2 stores and does a auction every 2 months or so, found two svt for 2 grand, was thinking about it, might get one at the next one

Shotguns didn't get worse, exactly, so obsolete is a bit strong. It's more like short barreled rifles got way better, more popular, and how they were used was refined.

I'd struggle to choose my shotgun (18.5) over a 12inch SBR for anything out to 100 yards purely due to the ease of handling for the SBR. I've not tried an SBS but those get dinged on capacity so they have a tradeoff unless it's box fed, but that still has a tradeoff because box mags hold less per inch of magazine compared to an SBR. Drums? Sure, but that shit is HEAVY with shotgun ammo. And you can get a reliable drum with even more ammo capacity for an SBR...sooo....

Now...here's the thing. If you only have money for 1 gun and you need it to do most things, or you're looking for a 'gateway' first gun, I'd still suggest a shotgun any day of the year, so long as it has interchangeable chokes. If it's got those choke options an 18.5 will do ya for casual trap and skeet or sporting clays, it will do dimensionally for home defense, with choked smoothbore it will be able to put birds and a good deal of game down, and you can often get a rifled barrel for the specialized hunting slugs. Bear gun? Servicable using slugs, and hard to get better outside of much more expensive much more specialized kit like elephant guns and big magnum calibers.

Many guns will do a specific task better, but few can do basically all of them adequately.

Edit: Oh, and maybe the most important thing given the shite gun-grabbers have implemented in some states: shotguns, even semi-auto shotguns, are rarely regulated in any meaningful way.

Damn. It's too bad this wasn't done before the ATF broke in and murdered Brian Malinowski for exactly that.
Obviously what @Null needs for fighting off tranny terrorists is a high-powered dildo launcher. That will definitely send those rotten crotch faggots running for the hills.
Psh, are you kidding? That'd be like putting out a salt lick for a deer.

Shoot a shotgun indoors without earpro and you'll see hear the issue. They are not obsolete, but if your training time is limited, the AR platforms are superior.
