Anyone know anyplace else that sells pre-pinned/welded 9mm AR barrels like this, that have more than 5in actual rifling? This one has 10in of rifling and I dig it for a 9mm upper build but these guys have been out of stock for a while.

I've found stuff like these from Odin Works (I may have seen something similar from Faxon), where they pin a 16in aluminum shroud around a 5.5in barrel, but that's barely longer than my G34 barrel and the Taccom 10in would give a bit extra punch, and the "brake" has a bit more pizzazz than the Odin. (they also have a 13/16 model that's also out of stock, but I like the 10/16)

I guess another option would be getting a 6in brake and having it pinned to a 10in barrel myself, but 6in brakes aren't easy to find either, and I'd rather save the time/cost of a pin/weld job.
That minimialist stock in the second picture with the foam cover looks nice, what brand is it?

some of the usual suspects like ADCO and Specialized Armaments used to sell them as "XM-177" style barrels with a pinned, lengthened sound moderator on the end in 9mm, which is what i've done in the past: an 11.7" barrel (5.56 or 9mm) with an aftermarket XM-177E2 4.3" muzzle brake, and a faux grenade ring and peel or crush washer, pinned and welded. 16.1" in length, and perfectly serviceable. barrels were usually Colt, Bushmaster, GM, or "white-label" which was Chaszel or someone like Remington Defense doing contract work.

i'm not aware of someone still making barrels like this outside of repro barrel makers/assemblers or one-offs.

Apparently Newsom and some kike from the Bay Area is butthurt at this company and want to ban advertising of guns to minors.

Brought this monster home with me today. Not going to lie, I'm a little bit intimidated.
The weight makes it pretty controllable. Just don't inhale too much gunsmoke. Also have fun with that loading lever flopping all over the fucking place. Take a tip from the guys who had to carry these into battle and get a strip of rawhide to tie that fucker down with.

Anybody have opinions on the different kinds of protection solutions?
Cerakote vs Duracoat? Protecting against elements, rust, etc?

application process and method varies and will determine final performance. likewise your surface preparation and environment and desired performance will have you lean towards one solution over others. many also choose aesthetics over performance.

My ongoing attempt to dress up a milsurp Chilean 1895 Mauser mosqueton as a somewhat passable representation of a carving-embellished Boer 1896 Mauser.

I had fashioned a decorated leather sleeve for the stock several years ago in imitation of a stereotypical Boer rifle carving, but at the time the workmanship and skill level was not quite there yet. This new version of the sleeve is much more convincing and aesthetically pleasing. Over time, the color of the dyed sleeve should fade to become a close match to the color of the stock.

It should be the same dye that went into my homemade repro Boer bandolier, which has long since faded to be the same tone as the stock.
