As a serious fighting rifle in the US? Not a fucking chance. The logistics for parts and service isn't there. I think it's known I fucking love AKs, but I still disagree with the idiots who think it'd be a good fighting rifle in the US. Good parts are sparse and it's very well known that US made parts for AKs are beneath dog shit.

Now if this mythical P90 of yours is just a toy, go for it if that's what you want but I'd still pass. I'm getting on in years and I still don't think anything else holds a candle to the MP5 except in weight. And parts are plentiful because it's been in law enforcement service for over 40 years.
That's my thing, if you buy a P90 as a toy, have the fuck you money to burn,, SBR it, and know the limits, I don't see a issue. If you're serious about it? Lol. Just lol. Better to buy a Hi-point carbine in 45, because at least that is cheap and spits God's caliber, and the mags won't burn a hole in your pocket

Federal offers that service. Dunno how much it costs but you send your gun to them and they tailor a hand load to your gun. Then you pay through the nose for custom handload ammo in case quantities.
There are a half dozen companies who do it. None as big as federal. Small time one man shops and guide service/outfitters. A few have good word of mouth. You're looking at like $500 give or take for load development plus component cost last I looked. All told you're in for about $1k minimum and that was years ago. IIRC there was one dude with good rep who'd sell you the load data for a few hundred more. Most will not.

Something like this I would only feed match grade ammo, so I'd be paying $2-3 a cartridge anyway .223 or .224. I have an understand with my girl, I do not question her make-up spending and she does not question my firearm spending, she recognizes it's a very useful hobby in the society we live in these days.
You got more money than brains if you're feeding a $400 upper $3 match ammo and you're shooting varmints at short range, not groups? In an esoteric caliber to boot. Build a gun to a purpose. Don't be the guy who pays $2-3K for a precision bolt gun and then slaps $400 Leupold on it to punch paper at 100yds. You know what else, it doesn't even have a sling on it.

I thought this was amusing:

:story:
I still think that helical mag fed guns could have a place as a specialty weapon. You get a lot of ammo in a relatively compact package that doesn't have a mag hanging of the bottom of the gun like a normal mag would. Something like a vehicle gun where the normal stick mag could get in the way.

back when i was doing LEO duty i remember being intrigued and kinda scared on a report of a hunting rifle (described as a bolt action .308) being used to fire a warning shot from inside the sleeper compartment and through the passenger compartment and out the side door to ward off a vehicle hijacking (CA considers an occupied vehicle as similar to an occupied home, ergo castle doctrine applies, and that's true even today) of a semi along CA-4...
I have a friend with a 22-250 truck gun that really doesn't like coyotes. I don't think the rifle has a 20" barrel. He tried shooting a coyote while running a combine exactly once. He didn't open the door fully and failed to extend the muzzle outside the cab. The thunderclap discombobulated him bad. All he really remembers is a white flash and thinking the windshield was about to fall out. Considering our boss got a recall letter that fall about the windshield being improperly installed, it was a real possibility.

On further research the .224 Valkyrie does not perform substantially better than the .223 Wylde chamber, not enough to warrant tried to obtain the perfect factory load. I was lead to believe it was a lot better than the standard .223 load/loaded a lot hotter. Anyway I'm going to continue on with my budget Target / Varmit AR project. most likely a 20" Stainless .223 Wylde, maybe a side charger.

Hi-point is literally giving out free mags. My carbine was supposed to only come with two, but it got shipped with 4 in total and the wonky spare mag holder that attaches to the stock. To be fair, one of the magazines started giving me trouble the second time I took it out to the range; but I’m not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

but, .30 caliber projectiles objectively cause much more damage and penetrate barriers more effectively.
Not in a .300 BLK out of an SBR they don't, especially if you're running subs.
Something like that. My hallways are a bit too tight and twisty for efficient long gun movement
That's just a matter of training and practice. CQB, even as a loner, is easier than you think.
A light is a must have, ideally when possible a suppressor
Couldn't agree more on both counts. If you know for a fact you're going to engage targets inside a structure, a suppressor makes an enormous difference, ear pro or not. I'm not just talking rooms or hallways either. Even a more open part of the structure, like a stairwell, will make you regret you touched off a rifle or shotgun inside it. If you have to you have to, but it's damn uncomfortable. It won't disorient you like a flashbang (COD lies, those are not as bad as the game makes them seem) or anything but I'd recommend you avoid doing this if at all possible.

Moving on, any of you pick up the new full size Dan Wesson DWX? It's not awful, but I was surprised the trigger was not better and that it cuts some corners in annoying ways. For example, the guide rod the full size pistol comes with is aluminum. No clue why they'd choose that. Then they chose to fit a comp type magazine release onto the pistol. That'd be fine except it's just a slightly longer CZ 75 mag release button, and its sharp edges aren't dressed at all. It'll dig into the palm of your support hand rather annoyingly. They also use propietary trigger bows and thumb safeties, which means you're more limited in how you can respec your pistol than you might think.

The thing I dislike the most is that they chose to use P10 F mags instead of the full size CZ 75. The P10 mags are easy enough to find and not terribly expensive, but there's less of them on the market in general and I already have 33 of the CZ 75 mags of differing capacities.

I mean if you get it for free, you take what you get lol. Their screw up at least got u 3 good mags lol. But seriously, if not the SD40VE, I'm getting me a dollar store Hi-point Tommy gun because I wanna spit 45 on the cheap man. I know there are other kinda cheap 45 carbines, but most are out of production and warranty. That and they don't have the meme .30 Super Carry if I went thar route, since it's plentiful where I'm at

The Hi Point carbines are genuinely fun guns and from everything I've seen Hi Point has excellent customer service and stands behind their product.

If ammo was still pre Obama prices I'd probably buy one just to mag dump stupid bullshit.

That's what they've always seemed like to me, fun bullshit guns to pop soda cans with in the mountains, that can work in home defense in a pinch. I'm not afraid of stocking up ammo over time, but I feel u

Count Blemula, Bill "Bendy" Geissele is announcing a new product today, oh whatever could it be.

Old man has some of those Hi point carbines, fun as heck.
I almost got one but had an Uzi basically fall into my lap.
A 1911 mag catch is available for the .45 ACP hi points.

Semi Uzi or NFA Uzi?

I'm impressed they don't get ToSed.
For whatever reason Twitch has never banned handling guns even after it was banned on Youtube. I'm watching the stream now and they're holding a bunch of guns up to the camera, thats a no no on Youtube.

Looks like the big announcement includes a new <7.5" barrel 5.56 pdw and a bunch of "limited edition" brightly colored Super Duty rifles.

Whyyyyy. At that point you are wasting so much unburnt powder as muzzle flash that can be seen from the space station. You would be better off buying pcc in that length.
