I’m a CZ fanboy, but I fired a full mag of 9mm out of an H&K USP Expert and it was one of the most memorable + enjoyable firearms I’ve ever shot.

That being said, I’m a poorfag CZ enjoyer who has not yet bought/fired a Shadow or an SP-01

I like most HK firearms - but the USP has never aroused passion for me. The mag release compared to the HK45, VP9 is inferior IMO but more importantly the rail is practically useless.

Yes, I'm aware of the adapters but it makes holster selection even more impossible. I'm still butt hurt that Safariland refuses to make a lvl 3 holster for the VP9 w/ ACRO P2.

Opticsplanet has a good deal on Federal 45gn .22 ammo, I was able to score 2K for $9.99cpr AFTER shipping and tax with whatever code they have on the front page. Pretty good compared to any of the other 45gn offerings.

Having tried CCI suppressor 45gn it is actually quieter than CCI standard or any other standard/subsonic ammo I've tried, save for CCI quiets which sound the same as suppressor. I've got high hopes for the stuff as reviews say it's the quietest, but maybe not the best for semi autos. I imagine CCI suppressor and this stuff both use a faster burning powder than normal as to reduce overall gas volume.
10 bucks a round for .22 seems steep. You wanna check that math again?

i use a rebuilt insight M2 UTL. takes the SIM-LED from streamlight just fine, although run time is only 2ish hours on the gen 3. the gen 5 SIM-LED is closer to 500 lumen but that's bordering on "too bright" at 5700K color temperature and washes everything out making PID harder than it needs to be. the reflector on incandescent are much more geared for 3700-4800K and below 300 lumen.

You may not know this, but you can swap in the extended release from the HK45C into legacy USPs.

I have one on my P2000, a must, imho.

My suppressor got approved. Now I just have a cylinder with nothing to put it on as the 3 prong adapter is on back order until June 2025. Feels bad man.

Shoutout to any weapon that still features a bayonet mount. Particularly the Mossberg 590a1 retrograde. This thing looks amazing and is relatively cheap for a quality firearm.

So while waiting for my training course/applying for my license I've been doing some research. My state bans "assault weapons" and has a high capacity magazine ban. Anyone keeping up-to-date with Snope vs. Brown have an opinion on how it may go? Could we see the end of assault weapon bans and magazine limits in the next year? I really want to buy an AR-15 but they are straight up banned unless you get a fixed magazine (IIRC), which is... retarded.

I don't know the case but 2A rights have only been expanding for the last 50 years so a definitive ban on assault weapon bans is on the menu for this SCOTUS.

Depends a bit on exactly where you are, as different states define "assault weapon" differently. For states that define an assault weapon via various "features," you have two options. (if it's "fixed-mag or bust," skip to 2)
  • 1) "featureless" AR. The main "feature" is probably going to come down to your grip (no pistol grip), in which case you'll have to choose between
    • a) buying a gun with a grip-fin that prevents you from putting your thumb around the grip, which is the only way you can buy a complete AR retail in feature-restricted states (you could then remove the finned-grip and replace it with one of the grip options mentioned below)
    • b) build your own from a stripped lower receiver without any of the defining "features," using one of the available goofy grips like a Sparrow grip or a Thordsen stock (there are a few other options but I think those are probably the best). Check the list of defining "features" to see what else you may have to leave off; you'll probably also need to have a fixed stock (a Thordsen will cover this).
  • 2) fixed-mag AR. These aren't necessarily as bad as they sound, as there are a few devices on the market that make "disassembling the action" a quick and simple process that's negligible with practice, such as the AR MAGLOCK, or you can get a Compmag that you can reload without taking it out of the gun.

You can get magazine couplers that will attach two mags butt-to-butt for a kinda-but-not-quite 20-round magazine.

It would be nice if the SCOTUS struck all this shit down nationwide, but that's a waiting game for who knows how long, with no guaranteed outcome (though it does seem likely if they get around to it).

However, the inability to run a modern light (Surefire X300U or GTFO) on a fullsized pistol is unacceptable to me.
It's not that you can't put the light on and get custom holster, you just can't get a Safariland holster because no one is using that pistol for duty use anyway. It more of an issue with pistols that never gain traction as a popular duty pistol. Safariland wont spend the spend to get the holster molds made. I had kinda written off the USP, but now I am intrigued again because of the Grayguns trigger upgrades. Aftermarket for them is meh, and iron sight options are few, But they don't really need anything beyond trigger work and sights you can get along with. Not the most relevant handguns, but fine for carry or HD.

Anyone here have experience with .357 Sig(gers)? I have some 10mm short and weak (40 S&W) that I am considering converting so that they are a speedy 9mm instead of a 40 S&W. I know it's not a .357 Mag. 357_Siggers.jpeg

I don’t have a shotgun yet and I have been eyeing the Mossberg 590S very hard. The ability to use the 1-3/4” shorty shells without using one of those aftermarket adapters/inserts is very appealing.

I've got one myself and it shoots and runs great. My only complaint is that the finish on the stock and grip is really fucking bad when you look at it up close. It is real wood though if you strip it off, so I'd recommend to anyone that wants one to use and abuse it until the finish is fucked, then refinish it yourself.

Beautiful gun. The 590A1 is about 500 bucks more than the 590 retrograde. Do you think there's enough of an improvement between the models to warrant the price tag? It's not incredibly expensive either way I'm just curious.
