That's 2 mentions of the A300 and 3 of Beretta, and it was already on my list, so I'm gonna look into those I think. I'm buying it for hunting personally, but I imagine a hardened criminal (not me I'm an upstanding citizen :) ) would be able to switch the tube easily to have a higher capacity. Or do they do wacky stuff to prevent that on models sold in more strict countries?
If you're looking for a hunting shotgun Dad had a browning gold that was damn near perfect for any sort of bird from light dove loads to 3 1/2 goose and turkey loads I cant remember it ever failing to feed. He loved it so much that I think he had 4 of them.

Thinking of picking up this Gen 2 Belgian police Glock from Atlantic Firearms. Currently going for $430. Do you guys think I should go for it or should I spend extra on a newer Glock with more modern features (like a Gen 5 17 or a 47)?
Here you go, found on Reddit gun deals page.

"Some models come with front slide serrations and some come with the half-moon cut. We can't guarantee you will receive one or the other model.

Night Sights are HIGLY likely, but not guaranteed."

He says 10% of them gave front slide serrations and 90% half moon cut. If there's a deal killer well there you go. I should get a G19 just to have one. Too many big adult responsibilities spending right now

Got my VP9 Match kit in the mail. I wish I could find the match striker assembly on its own, whatever they did made the trigger much better, its not just the nickel plating or whatever finish they used on the firing pin, possibly a lighter striker safety spring, too. Put an ultramatch trigger return spring from HK parts into my otherwise stock VP9 lower it and it feels really nice, though the reset isn't nearly as positive as with the factory spring, I'll have to go to the range before I decide if I don't like it.

Kit didn't come with the 20 round mags (booo), but I've already got a handful of 17 rnd mags, and I don't really have any plans to do competitive stuff with it so maybe I'll get those later.

The VP9 Match kit comes with the complete upper (only one recoil assembly, the blue one) and a pack of spare O-rings for the barrel. Sights are elevated suppressor/optic co-witness XS Big Dot Sights. A big super luminous green dot up front (like the original factory luminous sights, but seem to hold its charge a little longer) and a blacked out serrated rear.

I was sort of jealous of a fellow shooter's Canik TP9 SFx, and this kit was cheaper. The TP9 still has a better trigger, which of course it does, its a turkroach P99, but I trust this to be a bit better in the long run.

That looks really nice. I've wanted to try a paddle release. The only time I've tried one was at a public game lands range. A dorky guy in his probably mid 30s had an entourage of other similar men and women with him. He had a bunch of handguns with him. I was there with my wife and he was trying to give them all a safety lesson and everything you know good on him. Clearly new shooters. But then he asked me how to remove the magazine from his Walther. I started thinking "whose guns are these? This guy's the pack leader". So I showed everybody that it's a paddle release and this is how you get the magazine out. I like teaching people, but I also don't want to teach strangers when I'm trying to have a range day. I noticed before that that they were tea cupping when they were dry, firing or shooting a 22. I can't remember. So when I showed him how to do the mag release thing I also showed him how to actually hold a handgun. they also had a hellcat that had a red dot on it, but somebody must not have put a battery in it because it wasn't turning on. The guy that brought everybody there with all these guns also didn't know how it worked, Or what was wrong with it or anything. So we started packing up cuz I don't know what the hell was going on with that.

Still better than the time there was like 6 Indians there mostly older and very young women who were limp wristing 1911s and clearly never shot before while the guys were all speaking Hindi and filming it. Or the zoom zoom who was pushing his GF to shoot his AK and she was really mad at him. He clearly didn't know how to shoot it either he never corrected her stance or anything. She was very scared, and scolding him. Now I'm just rambling about gamelands stories.

I've seen a lot of Canik talk of barrels losing rifling at much much lower round counts than normal. I never understood the fascination people have with them. There's this very strong fanboy culture around them.

If Walther PDP's looked nearly as good as their turkroach counterparts they probably wouldn't even exist, seeing as how they're similarly priced.

I wouldn't be shocked to learn that Canik "people" also own an XD, too. The guy I was shooting with who had the Canik has many other guns, including a VP9 of his own, he just happened to have it with him that day.

Nothing makes me sideeye a range neighbor quite like breaking out the phones to take pictures or video. Most of the super fucky behavior I've seen at ranges was "for the 'gram".
Just hearing people speak Hindi at the range would be a massive red flag for me. Like, enough to turn around and go to public land instead. There's just something about traditional Hindu culture that makes it not compatible with firearms or basic safety concepts.

Obligatory:

the discord meetup that happened in the lane next to me complete with talking about fallout and a 6 foot 2 fridge man wearing a goth dress is still fresh in my memory.
i'm sick of how much the ranges near me suck. nothing goes beyond 25 yards and every single guy behind the counter is a bitch that takes great lengths just to not be cool. nothing outdoors is near me so i'm in purgatory.

Here bro just purchase this. For the price of a house and multiple acres of land you too can shoot in a trailer

I know a guy in town with some commercial bare land he hasn't been able to lease and I keep thinking about seeing if I can bring one of those in. Then I realize it's out of my budget.

Thread bros, a thing just occurred to me. Some of you have probably figured this out ages ago so feel free to rate me fucking retarded.

I prefer to use a plumb bob to level the reticle when mounting optics. I've done this for a long time because it works and it's cheap. It can be done indoors but it's not all that convenient, I found.

Another option to level a scope's reticle indoors is to use a laser level. Reasonably inexpensive options abound, it's easily mobile, and the contrast between the laser and the reticle makes it easier to line them up and know their positions quickly. How did this not occur to me until just now? That TBI must have been worse than I thought. Anyway, just wanted to share with you all.

Ukrainian prototype KBS-1 in 9x18 Makarov, based on the Glock 17:

Looks like they carved the frame from a cuttingboard, but otherwise I like it.

So after a little bit of research on the Beretta semi-autos, I found out why some can't get extended tubes : the piston is blocking the end of the tube, where on other models the piston is around the tube. Pics for illustration.

I couldn't find any model with the latter on domestic (France) markets except for the very expensive A400s, and I can't be bothered to look for imports for now...
I did find a second hand wood furnished M2 for 1k however, so I went with that.

a plumb bob uses string and gravity. the rifle is leveled independently on a rest using the action rails.

a laser level uses batteries, requires some level of calibration (either you or the factory) and you must make sure that whatever method you're using to hold the laser level is also level and square with whatever is holding the rifle in place.

after doing this professionally for literal decades, i gave up on laser levels early on for quality and consistency issues. sometimes the laser just isn't fine enough for some crosshairs despite all other factors being good.

a plumb bob hung from a support and into a bucket of water at a few meters distance, then level the rifle and lap the rings as appropriate, then level the scope and observe proper torque. do it once, and do it right. alternately the way i do it now is a little different since i use the table off a defunct lathe to align everything down to a few thousandths. same concept though.

always ask to see consignment or old stock that hasn't moved in a while or stuff like that. dead inventory is dead weight is money on the books occupying space i can put actual moving product. i blew out the Gen 3 LEO Glock 22's and 23's i had for $300 out the door with 2 mags just to get rid of them since i was running out of space and new stuff from Glock and Springfield were becoming hot items (P365 just got released) and i needed room for the new SIG stuff too. this can work for accessories like bushmaster-branded boresnake cleaning kits and some other stuff.
The rifle wasn't consignment or deadstock it was mostly passed up because the wood doesn't match. Throat and muzzle according to the gauge is a 1 so I say I Jew'd them. Unfortunately They've had an "exceptional individuals" M1's from the CMP up for consignmemt for over a year with more worn barrels, he's asking over $2,500 each so they take up space.
Because MUH Gun Jesus - redditards

IO literally makes AK shaped grenades.

RTI imports guns that might fire and are in essentially one piece.
IO and RTI are basically the same. RTI is currently selling guns that aren't even in one piece. My FFL decided to risk $200 on an SMLE and the end of the barrel disintegrated when they took it out of the box, it was also missing a bolt that they (RTI) later claimed shipped with the gun.
What are the more reputable semi-auto shotguns on the market? I'm looking at both new and second hand, mostly in the big brands (I've been warned about cheap turkish shotguns). Are inertia systems really worth the easier clean-up?
Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol if you want a great entry level "tactical" looking shotgun.

Considering Canik is a cheap Turkshit knockoff of Walther, I have to disagree, people buy Canik because it looks cool but when the encounter the issue of too few liras were spent to manufacture it, they go to Walther.
